🎄 Be Part of the Magic! Join the RLE Hometown Christmas Parade Festivities on Saturday, December 12th, 2026! 🎄

This year, we're transforming Downtown Rio Linda into a holiday destination where families can spend the entire day making memories—not just watching the parade.

We're inviting our amazing local businesses, organizations, churches, and community groups to become featured stops in our Christmas Scavenger Hunt & Holiday Adventure map!

Imagine all of the families strolling through downtown, visiting your business, completing fun holiday activities, and discovering everything Rio Linda has to offer.

🌟 How It Works
Each participating location will host a simple, fun Christmas-themed activity. Activities can be as easy or creative as you'd like!

Ideas include:
🎅 Decorate a Christmas cookie
🎨 Color a Christmas picture
🎄 Make a holiday ornament
📸 Find a hidden Christmas item and snap a selfie
🎁 Guess how many ornaments are in a jar
❄️ Write a letter to Santa
🔔 Ring the Christmas bell challenge
🦌 Reindeer Ring Toss
☕ Enjoy complimentary hot cocoa samples
🎶 Holiday music sing-along
🎅 Meet Santa or one of his elves

Families can get their Christmas activity pass from us and will travel throughout downtown collecting stamps, clues, photos, or completing challenges at each participating location. They will turn in their completed activity pass for a special drawing.

🎄 TODAY IS THE BIG DAY!!! 🎄
We are so excited to celebrate with you all!

A few important reminders for tonight:

🚧 Road Closures
Roads will close at 4:30 PM, so please plan ahead and use alternate routes.

✨ Parade & Tree Lighting
We’ll kick off the evening with the Community Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:00 PM, followed by the parade.

🧣 Dress Warm!
It’s going to be chilly—temperatures are expected to drop into the low 40s. Bundle up and don’t forget your blankets and chairs!

❄️ Giant Snow Globe Experience (2:00–6:00 PM)
Stop by the Community Christmas Tree to climb inside our giant snow globe, proudly sponsored by The Grotto.
A photographer will be on site to take your picture, and you’ll go home with a special keepsake photo.

🚻 Restrooms Along the Route
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Rio Linda Chamber of Commerce, Tummy’s, Riverview Realty One, and Rio Java, porta potties are available at the following locations:

2 at Papa Murphy’s (M St & Rio Linda Blvd)
2 at M Street & L Street
2 in the shopping center at Oak Lane & Curved Bridge Road

In addition, there are 4 porta potties located on the blacktop near the Rio Linda Elverta Teen Leadership Council & Youth Center, next to the library.
