Finished this guy, pretty happy with how the glaze turned out! Although I put it on pretty thick, so it dripped down and fused to the cookie it was on (just a flat piece of ceramic to make sure it doesn't fuse to the kiln). But the cookie was pretty clean so it just looks like the base of the sculpture, so I'm happy with it šŸ¤·

Finished glazing this guy, now just waiting for it to be fired! I've also realized I never really get before and after pics for the glazing, so you can see the difference in the glaze before it's fired. It'll be very very different from this, all the glaze will melt and move around, fingers crossed the patterns I made will result in cool patterns/mixing when it's done! Worried some parts might be too thick and just slide off, but we'll see.

This piece is a glazing experiment. The body is 3-4 thick layers of Chun Plum with about 3 layers of Avocado Green underglaze on top. The iris of the eye is an inner circle of Sapphire Float, an outer ring of Purple Crystal, then tendrils of Art Deco Green, spots of Tenmoku, then a roughly star shape of Oatmeal. Then I have a pupil on top that is Jet Black underglaze, and I did a thin outer ring of the same (then just clear covering the white of the eye). Now to see what it looks like when everything melts together in the kiln!

I've been meaning to make more fungus/mushroom inspired art. Even the idea behind my artist name, Dread Cap, is the idea of a psychedelic mushroom that makes you see nightmares. I've been putting it off because I couldn't see in my mind how I'd implement it, but I'm pretty happy with how this is turning out.
