We had an absolute blast at our monthly FREE Homeschool Gathering today at Clover! Each parent contributes to our theme in a meaningful way and it all comes together for our kids 😍

I just received the most DELIGHTFUL message:

Apparently, a child was requesting that her momma PLEASE message Jessie from Clover to let her know that she spent half of her recess today pretending to be Thumper.

And according to her, pretending to be Thumper is actually pretty easy…

“All you have to do is be angry and hop around!” 🤣🤣🐰

I mean… ISN’T THAT THE TRUTH!? (We love grumpy thumpy)

Oh, how I LOVE the way children take little pieces of our time together and carry them right into their own imaginative worlds. 😂🥹

Look at this wonderful video that one of our families made of our activities at the Rutland Free Library!

What started as a kitty-adoption-day turned into so much more!

🐱 We saved kitties falling out of a tall building!
🐱 We sent rescue teams to a terrible disaster, cops, ambulance, veterinarians all worked together to save the kitties!
🐱 We built a movie theatre AND designed movies for viewing
🐱 We came out with a news paper delivery service that shared takes on all things from announcing the brand new movie theater, tragic kitty accident, all the way to thumpers cute & sassy mood 🤣📰
🐱 We answered some silly but very serious would you rather questions
—> would you rather have spaghetti for hair or marshmallow toes?
—> If you could make something ridiculous illegal for the day, what would it be?

I just love days like this because even when I come at it with a purpose and a goal, the kids have all these wild ideas and we create so much joy together.

Sometimes it’s really hard for children to be with a group and playing all day; you wouldn’t think so but free play is pretty intense for kids because it is just a lot of self regulation, self advocating, and interacting!
I am always so incredibly amazed by and proud of how much communication and problem-solving and gentle collaboration happens!
