NC Chi was pleased to donate 15 blessing bags to Safe Haven Of Person County this week, stocked with toiletry items such as shampoo and conditioner, hair care tools, toothpaste, socks, feminine hygiene products, and deodorant. As a trusted Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Agency, Safe Haven offers emergency shelter, support, counseling, and community resources to those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

At the state convention in Wilmington, NC, Chi chapter president Jennifer Clement attended the installation of State President Yvette Keel, during which Keel revealed the new state logo and theme, “North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Becoming…”.

NC Chi successfully held a fundraising event at the Kirby Theater, selling concessions in support of their annual Mary Earl Berger Scholarship, which is awarded to a local high school senior pursuing higher education in education.

We extend our congratulations to Lilly Swartout, the recipient of the 2026 Mary Earle Berger Chi Chapter Scholarship. Lilly is graduating from Person Early College for Innovation and Leadership this spring and will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the fall, where she will pursue a degree in Elementary Education. We wish Lilly continued success in her academic and professional pursuits and look forward to following her progress at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

On March 28th, NC Chi held its "Educators are Heroes" new member recruitment social at Wildflower Cafe. The ladies engaged in conversation, savored excellent coffees, explored the Alpha Delta Kappa teacher organization and its mission, and played games.
