Okay crafty friends, I need to know — what's the ONE thing on your crafting desk that you can't live without? 🧐

I'll go first: my GlassBoard glass craft mat. I resisted buying one for a LONG time because I thought my old self-healing mat was "good enough." Spoiler alert: it wasn't okay. I was spending more time cleaning ink off my mat than I was actually making cards.

The glass surface cleans in one swipe. The magnets hold my stencils in place. And the grid means my cards come out straight even when I'm crafting at 10pm and can hardly see straight 😂

Here's the background trick on this Easy Summer Sundae Card that looks complicated - and is not at all.

The Check This Layered Stencils from Catherine Pooler Designs feature three stencil layers. I used 2 for this card. And that's it.

First pass: Gateway ink, blended lightly across the stencil.
Second pass: Gateway ink again, applied a little darker.

Same color. Two passes. The result is a soft, tone on tone check pattern that adds depth and texture without competing with the focal images at all. It quietly understands the assignment. 🎯

When a background works this hard while looking this subtle - that's when card making is fun.

Hey friends I need your help with something
A tiny handful of us are trying to bring a brand-new marker to life — and we can't do it alone.

OLO marker has been quietly working a Fine Nib marker for the past year and they sent prototypes out to only a few of us to test before anyone even knew it existed. I've been using mine for months, and the deal is, this marker only goes into full production if the community reaches the goal of the campaign together. It's not on the regular OLO site -- it's on a separate community-powered website, and every single reservation helps decide whether this nib comes to life.

This is one of those moments where being part of the crafting community actually means something. If you've ever wanted to be in on the ground floor of something new, this is your chance.

I’ve got a peek at the new Better with Sprinkles collection from arriving TOMORROW… and this card is giving major sweet summer vibes 😍

For this one, I mixed some brand new release products with a couple previously released favorites because honestly… I LOVE stretching my supplies.

New goodies featured:�🍦 Another Trip Around The Sun-dae stamps & dies�✨ Birthday One Liners Sentiments�💫 Oh Boy Shimmer (splattered in the background for a little sparkle magic)

And I paired them with an older cover plate die + textured square die for a clean and simple design that lets that ice cream cone steal the spotlight 🍨

This week someone asked me if you can actually write with alcohol markers, not just color with them.

So I grabbed one of OLO's brand new Fine Nib markers and wrote a little thank you note to find out.

Here's what happened (and a tip if you want to try it yourself).

Hey y'all! I received a question in my inbox this week that I think many of you might be wondering as well: “Do I have to use the fine nib with the brush, or can I just use the fine nib alone?”

I figured the best way to answer that was to show you. So I grabbed a stamp with loads of teeny sections - the kind that normally would have me grabbing my readers on top of my regular glasses - and just colored with the fine nib. No blending. No brush. Just coloring only.

And honestly ? It felt really good. There are times when we feel that alcohol markers mean you have to blend every time. But you don’t. The fine nib makes it so easy to control that I didn’t get stressed about going outside the lines even on a stamp with this many little sections.

If you are new to OLO and you are looking at the Fine Nib collections and thinking "but I don't have the brush" -- I want you to know that beginning with the fine nib alone is a perfectly wonderful way to start. You sure can.

I said in the video that the hardest thing I have done in 22+ years of crafting is to keep this Fine Nib a secret. I’m not even kidding. I am just so stinkin' excited about these markers.

Okay Stampin' Friends, I have a question for you.
How many of you have a favorite stamp set that you never use because the details are just too small to color in?

I know I'm not the only one who pulls out the readers and puts them on top of my prescription glasses just to see what I'm doing. Well, I've been experimenting with something that totally changed that for me and today's video is showing you what happened when I put the new OLO Fine Nib up against those detailed stamps I've been avoiding.

Let me show you a side-by-side comparison. Same stamp, same colors, but one is colored with the regular brush nib, and one is colored with the fine nib. The difference is night and day and I think you guys are going to want to see this for yourself.

This launch is a bit different than the launches we’re used to. This is a community-powered campaign by OLO, meaning that the Fine Nib will only go into full production if we all reach the campaign goal. They are only selling sets, 256, 128 or 64 colors, and every reservation helps to make this a reality for all of us.
