Day 30: https://www.vansickleart.com/shop/blue-and-green-tree ☺️
This 24x36” painting is done on a 1.5” deep canvas.
I've been feeling exceedingly blue lately, and yesterday I realized I was working with mostly blue colors. Maybe this is my 'blue period' like Picasso's (without being a womanizing, narcissistic s**t human, like he was). Anyways, here is a new piece called Blue Cows. 30x40 $1400. Day 29.
Day 28: Glints of Light. https://www.vansickleart.com/shop/glints-of-light
Building a little forest in my studio.
Day 27, still wet on the easel. This size, 36x36", retails $1600, but for the next 24 hours, it's 50% off! $800. I dont have it up on my website yet, so if you're interested, claim in in the comments below.
A while back, I was making these little groupings for all my friends who were designing kids rooms. They're just little sweet paintings on wood boards, but so cute! Day 26: This trio retails $220, but for the next 24hrs is $160! More info at: https://www.vansickleart.com/shop/set-of-3-pups
Day 25. I know I’ve been doing a lot of sunrises lately, but I’ve realized this is the first house I’ve lived in where I can see the sunrise through the trees. I’ve spent most of my life in the city- where the sunrises are blocked by houses or buildings. It’s just so dang pretty! I hope you’re all having a great holiday. This painting is 24x36” and retails $1040. For the next 24hrs, it’s on special for $740. Get yourself a last minute gift! (Comment below to claim it).
Artwork, (especially paintings), is so personal, I almost never give it as a gift. I would hate to have someone feel obligated to hang something they didn’t love. I took chance this year, however, and made my sister a painting of her favorite animals - bison. I think it’s very pretty! (I hope she does too 😬). Happy holidays everyone!
Day 24: Moon Moth. This 20x20” painting is done on a 1.5” deep canvas and retails $480. For the next 24 hours, it's on special for $340!

December Days, Day 23. This piece retails $1040 - but today is $740! https://www.vansickleart.com/shop/orange-blooms
Xmas cookie day! I think my confused cookie men are pretty great. 😂
**SOLD** Another painting so new it’s not off the easel yet! December Days, Day 22. More snow! I think most of us in the entire country are experiencing this snowstorm right now. Here in the twin cities, if we ignore the -32 degrees, one can say it’s at least pretty outside. I dont have a title for the little 16x20” piece yet, ideas? It retails $380, but will go to the first person to claim it in the comments below, for $300. Go ahead, treat yourself for all the shoveling you did today. 😄
December days- day 21. Today’s piece will be this little warm up study I did. It’s 10x10” and I’m not even going to upload it to my website. $100! First person to claim it in the comments below gets it. 😊
How great does this look?!
December Days, day 20: Gold Leaf with Blue. This painting is *so* tough to photograph. The middle section is made with gold leaf, which means it's metallic quality is different in every light. I'll hang on the wall tomorrow to try to get better photos. It's so pretty at every angle! Retails $1400, but for the next 24hrs it's $860!
December Days, Day 19. It's still wet on the easel! For info: https://www.vansickleart.com/shop/december-sunrise
It’s 6pm.. but I am still hoping to get this piece done for todays Showcase Piece. Check back in a bit!

December Days, Day 17: This 24x36" piece is entitled 'Untitled 227', and yes, I just made that number up. Ha! Naming paintings is just not my forte. This retails $1040, but is currently $740 for the next 24 hours. Treat yourself! (PS - thank you all for the kind words about that buck piece I was working on yesterday. Sadly, I've massacred it!)
December Days, Day 16. This 12x36” painting 'Morning Glory' is done on a 1.5” deep canvas. Retail $520 - but for the next 24hrs, $360!
I’m still messing around with my portrait of Comet. I just haven’t developed a style I like. I think I’m going to abstract him more.
December Days, Day 15: Doe. Retail price: $1400 - for the next 24hrs, $980! 3ftx3ft. For more info: https://www.vansickleart.com/shop
Just snapped this photo of Comet. Isnt he handsome!?
Pssst: There are a few more $50 framed prints posted! https://www.vansickleart.com/prints
December Days, Day 14. 'Tulips and Apple Blossoms' is a 2ftx2ft piece done on a 1.5" deep canvas. Retails $680, but for the next 24 hours it's $480!
One of the struggles of my job is an issue of classism. I sincerely believe all people should have access to own original art, not just the wealthy. Getting to buy an original piece of artwork is so special, and I hate that this feeling goes, almost exclusively, to the upper class. I've spent many years trying to figure out how I could somehow change this with my own work. Unfortunately, making a living and offering original art at fair prices is, nearly impossible. Today's December Deal is another test of this idea, that well, failed a bit. I was hoping to print some paintings on canvas to sell at a reasonable price. This print was $85.00 for me, plus the shipping. This doesnt count the hours actually painting it, the photographing and uploading it, the years of art school, the art supplies, the heat, the electricity .. etc. It bums me out that this little print really cant make me much of a profit. Nonetheless, the printers did a beautiful job, and it's well done! So, I offer it to you for $150 for the next 24 hours. I wish I could offer it for $20! But alas, eating is that annoying thing I seem to have to do every dang day. Grrr! For more info go to: www.vansickleart.com/shop
December Days: Day 12. It's probably not the brightest business move to discount paintings this much, but sometimes I just want more room in the studio for new pieces! This 30x48" painting retails $1800, and for the next 24 hours it's 50% off!
December Days - Day 11. It's a little early to start looking for 'Signs of Spring' (the title of this piece), but even though it has blooms, there is still a wintery feel with the white and grey palette. 18x35" - retails $780, on special for the next 24hrs for $600. https://www.vansickleart.com/shop
Art rules. Music, perfermance, visual, .. I love it all so much! I went to a Circus Juventas show today, and I have to say, I loved it even more than the children's theater show! Circus Juventas is a performing arts circus school, (for real) and it's all students performing the shows. It's obviously not as polished or well funded as the Children's Theater shows, but dang, so fun and impressive! It's probably good I never had kids. I would have been an insane mother who pushed her kids into this stuff (singing, dancing, gymnastics, acting), along with music and languages - at like, age 3. They would have hated me... but they would be talented! Haha! Anyways, there are not many tickets left, but worth checking out.
Here are better photos of the current showcased piece, discounted from $1400 to $800! Www.vansickleart.com/shop
December Days: Day 10. This is a piece I'll be sad to part with. These colors, the water .. I just find it so soothing. (And it looks darn good in my house, too!). 'Quiet' is 30x40 and retails $1400. For the next 24 hours, it's on special for $800. (It's too dark out now, but I'll get a photo of it hanging on my wall tomorrow when the light is better.) www.vansickleart.com
*Update: Holiday Sparkle has sold. 🙂
For those of you who have asked, yup, it's still available! Info here: https://www.vansickleart.com/shop
I wouldn’t be able to identify individuals from this group- but I still know who they are. One mom with twins (boy and girl) and one mom with a boy. They all hang out together a lot. 🥰
It's early for today's showcase piece, but what the heck! (Yesterday's will still be on special until tonight).
Today's painting is called 'Holiday Sparkle'.
As a person who does not belong to any religion, and often thinks religions create more barriers than bonds, I still have some very fond memories of the holidays from when I was little. And even today, as a non-religious person in the US, I LOVE HOLIDAY DECORATIONS! Breaking it down, I actually mostly just love sparkly things. And if the xmas holiday allows it to be socially acceptable for me to make things really glittery, well, I am 100% in! This includes outdoor xmas lights, which adds some much needed delight during our cold, long nights.
This painting is very much out of my wheelhouse, but I think anyone who has seen Xmas lights on an evergreen at night, can relate to the image, even if I've abstracted/blurred it a bit.
This is a 30x40" painting retails $1400. For the next 24 hours, it's $800! Hang it up every December along with your other decor!
I wasnt thrilled with the photo of yesterday’s showcase piece, so here is a better pic. 2ftx3ft, originally $1080, on special for $700!
December Days, Day 8! This piece, entitled Calm Coast, represents all the beautiful lake coasts we have here in MN. It's today's showcase piece, and is priced a steal for the next 24 hours! More info at: https://www.vansickleart.com/shop .
December Days, Day 7. This is a steal! I framed this print of the Fox and the Crow as a test piece. It would look more finished with a mat, but it still looks nice in this white wood frame. For info, go to: https://www.vansickleart.com/prints
You've seen me play with this piece for a few days now. I've got it to a point where I'm happy. This is December Days, Day 6! Visit here for more info: https://www.vansickleart.com/shop/floral-still-life
I just started a painting of my new handsome man, Dasher, who visits a few times a day to sneak some bird food. (yes, I exaggerated his manly antlers 😆). I’m showing you this because it’s really tough to develop a ‘style’ with these animal pieces. I’m uninterested in realism, so I need to really push my creativity. It’s harder than it looks. I’m sure I’ll mess my big guy Dash up within the next few hours. But, it’s all a process. ❤️
