1930’s Duplex Spirit of St Louis Snare Drum
13” rawhide skins on a 15” shell, with old wire-wrapped silk snare wires installed (check out the hole where the snare wire ends get tidied up…I’ve never seen that on another drum).
This strange drum, it’s strainer, and multiple other revolutionary drum designs were invented by Julius Meyer, successor to Emil Boulanger at the Duplex Manufacturing Company.
