We're hosting another Fall Make-Along!

📅 September 18 – October 30

We'll have two beautiful patterns to choose from - one for knitters and one for crocheters - which means everyone is invited to join in on the fun!

🧶 Earn entries for door prizes just by participating, finishing your project or using yarn from A Skein Away

❤️ This isn't a race. The whole point of our Make-Along is to make something beautiful together. Ask questions. Share your color choices. Show us your progress. Cheer somebody else on. Post the mistake you just discovered six rows back. 😂

Cozy season is calling, and we're kicking it off with our 2nd Annual Fall Picknit!

Join us at A Skein Away on Saturday, September 26 from 12–3 PM for an afternoon of stitching, snacking, sipping, shopping, and spending time with your fiber friends. Bring your current WIP, grab a seat, and help us officially welcome our favorite season!

Your $25 ticket includes:

We are SO excited to share that A Skein Away will be participating in the 2026 MadTown Shop Hop

📅 Mark your calendars! October 8-11, 2026

We may be the southernmost stop on the hop, but that just means our Northern Illinois fiber friends have the perfect place to start! 😉 This is your chance to spend a weekend exploring some fantastic yarn shops, discovering new fibers, and maybe coming home with a little more yarn than you planned. (We fully support this.)

And for our friends coming down from Southern WI — we can't wait to welcome you to Roscoe!

There will be lots more to share about how the Shop Hop works, what you'll find at A Skein Away, and everything being planned for the weekend.

To say life has been a little crazy lately would be an understatement. I’ve been terrible about making time for the things I love, so tonight I’m especially grateful for a beautiful summer evening, my constant companion keeping me company, and finally taking the time to work on something new.

On the needles is Lento by Jonna Helin. I’m knitting it in Knitting for Olive Merino held double with Emma’s Suri Silk. On size 10 needles, I have a feeling this one’s going to fly… right? 😅
