Beginning at the main intersection in town and going all the way through this small unincorporated town you will find hundreds of vendors with anything you could imagine on display. Towns to note along the route that are busy with vendors are Mt. Hope, Hatton, Town Creek, Elgin Crossroads, and Lexington. There will be camping facilities all along the route and one of the largest being Fisherman's Resort, just South of Wheeler Dam, and Wheeler Park located at the Dam on the South side. Most places offer specials and discounts during this time. There are also vendors who grill, fry, bake and make goodies for fundraisers along the route. Many churches and organizations will sell food, drinks and fresh popped corn for your convenience. Don't forget the fried pies at the Lexington Library. They are sold each year in this spot and the baker who does them sells about 800 every yard sale!! Local food trucks also park along the route to give you a twist to your menu and showcase many specialities in which they are locally known!! Billy Crisler from Town Creek is the founder of this sale. The first one was held on his property in the 1980's and he spread the word to friends and neighbors along the highway and each year it grew larger. His idea was to create a sale that people from one end of 101 to the other would enjoy. He wanted a way to show our southern hospitality to visitors from all over who would visit this sale and help the small businessman and stimulate the local economy. Crisler passed away in January of 2025, but he leaves behind his legacy of the Alabama Highway 101 Yard Sale to forever be cherished and celebrated. This is a fun filled family event for anyone who loves to shop and find that perfect item at a bargain price. We hope to see everyone there!!
