I hope everyone stays warm today. I read an article yesterday saying dogs shouldn’t be outside for more than 5 minutes at a time, so keep those puppies toasty!!!

After adding my June and July calendar on Thursday, I’m almost fully booked. New calendar will be added Monday. Thanks to my faves for keeping me busy!

Okay, sorry for the delay l! I’ve been promising this post for weeks now. And only now that I’m getting an oil change and forced to sit down, did I remember to do this!!

If there is a dot on the date, it is booked or partially booked for a session! So if you are looking to book your 2023 family photos at the beach at sunset, absolutely NOW is the time! This goes for senior sessions as well. Every year, I have multiple people say they had no idea their child wanted their senior session at the beach and there are no dates left. To book there is a $100 deposit, that’s it! So don’t miss out on the weekends etc, reach out.

And if you have your heart set on a date that looks reserved, it could be a morning cake smash or newborn session, so don’t be afraid to ask.

I have many pending newborns for sessions this month, and I am pretty booked for March. Remember the best time to shoot your newborn session, is within the first two weeks. Sessions get exponentially trickier as your newborn gets older.

Anyways, I am already dreaming of being sandy, wet and burnt and seeing you all. Stay warm this weekend. 🥶

Guys!! I was published this past weekend in Bold & Beautiful Photography Magazine!

I like to submit photos a few times a year to different publications when they have issues that my photos would fit. So, so excited to have been chosen for their Mommy & Me issue!

The funny thing is I probably could fill an entire
Mommy & Me issue by myself, because it’s basically all I do!! How adorable are these two?! 😍

Valentine’s Day sessions are cancelled for tomorrow. These are never big sellers because of the Christmas mini rush! So I will take the day off and finally get some laundry done.

In the meantime, I will be posting the model winner for the wedding dress session tomorrow night and will also be posting available summer weekend nights this week since they’re always the first to go!

Calling all teeny, tiny girls!!

I am looking for one girl, aged 4-7, who would be willing to model while wearing their mom’s wedding dress!! I am obsessed with those shoots and my girls are too old now.

If you have a child in that age range and would bring their dress to my studio for a quick modeling sesh, please put their photo in the comments! Session will take place on a weekday/night in February! Model will receive 3 digital downloads for their time. Must be willing to sign model release for social media marketing usage.

My parenting story isn’t cute anymore. It’s true. I’m in those years of parenting that just are nitty-gritty-not-redeemable by instagram. It’s the middle years and the teenage years and the young adult years and friends, it just isn’t cute.

It’s a great deal of no sleep, but not due to waking babes, but me sitting up waiting for them to return.

It’s a great deal of worrying and wondering and hoping and homework and tests and sitting in a car while your heart is pounding out your chest while you’re yelling “brake brake brake.”

It’s a great deal of amazing talks and deafening silence. Oh the silence. No one told me about the silence. Who would have thought that there would be a day when I wished for a bit of noise?

It’s a great deal of feeling alone and wondering, just like you did when they are young, if you are making the right choice. The choices, the choices, that part never seems to end.

It’s a great deal of waiting and cheering and hoping and trying and worrying and letting go and being brave.

And it is just not as cute.

There are no longer cute sleeping toddlers or fun crafts or goofy faces. There are no longer the fun costumes or times pushing swings at the park or all of them in the car, strapped in, with silly songs on.

Hah, now the music is their music and the memes things that I'm like, "I just don't get it...."

It’s just different.

And just because it’s different doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter. It matters so much even if it isn’t as Instagram worthy. It matters so deeply in the most un-cute way.

It matters.

You see in all of motherhood it is the simplest things that matter so much - the showing up, the loving, the dealing, the listening, the giving, the caring.

It all matters.

Years ago I wrote about why being a mom is enough. It still is, even if it isn’t cute or adorable or any of that. It matters just as much and in it all you are enough. You are still enough, more than enough, in this most unseen and often lonely place of motherhood.

You see the truth still stands.

They need you.

They need you in your tired, imperfect, showing up, loving them unconditionally, setting the rules, being their mom way.

Maybe you are more tired or the pics are just you or you are feeling alone. But you see, you are the pulse, the life, the love.

You matter.

You are enough.

It's a season. A new season. And even though it looks differently, it doesn't mean it doesn't matter. It is just different, with love that deepens and pride for them that grows. It may not be as adorable, but oh my goodness, the depth and the ups and downs and letting go - it is all there.

This season, this not-so-cute season matters.

And so do you.

One of the best parts of photography, for me, has always been the babies. There’s nothing like holding a brand new baby, and getting these adorable shots!! (And then handing the baby back over to mom & dad and getting yourself a full nights sleep 🫣)
