INTRODUCING a NEW Rockford DanceMakers Festival Program!✨NEXT ROUND EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHERS PROGRAM✨

The NEXT ROUND EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHERS PROGRAM gives emerging ADULT and YOUTH choreographers the opportunity to develop their artistic voice while learning the fundamentals of choreography. Participants will explore ideas, create original work, lead rehearsals, receive guidance and feedback, and prepare their choreography for a showcase performance during the Rockford DanceMakers Festival weekend in March 2027!

NEXT ROUND is also for dancers interested in performing new work. All participants must be at least 13 years old.

Workshops: September 27 & October 25 | 2:00-4:15 PM
Instructor: Michelle Stolberg
Age Groups: Adults: 18+ | Youth: 13-17
Choreographer Fee: $30 for one workshop | $50 for both
Dancer Fee: $10 for one workshop | $15 for both

a YOUTH Choreographer or a YOUTH Dancer.

✨ RDMF MASTER CLASSES BEGIN THIS SUNDAY: SEP 13!✨

Kick off the Rockford DanceMakers Festival Master Class Series with Festival choreographer Micki Selander!

Micki will teach a Classical Ballet Master Class, designed for Intermediate/Advanced Adult Dancers. Experience the artistry and technique she brings to the studio and stage.

If you are interested in auditioning for Micki's Festival piece, please attend this class!

BIO: Micki Selander is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer with more than two decades of experience in performance, dance education, and choreography. She received her early ballet training at the Maryland School of Ballet, after which she moved to Chicago to train professionally with Lou Conte, Claire Bataille, and Birute Barodicaite. Soon after, she joined Hubbard Street Dance Chicago as a full company member. Micki went on to dance in New York City before returning to the Chicago area, where she continues to teach, choreograph, and perform in local productions. Her teaching reflects her extensive background in ballet and dance technique, along with a longstanding commitment to sharing her knowledge and experience with her students.
