🥤❤️ THE MUM BEHIND THE SPIRIT BLOOM ❤️🥤

This one is incredibly special to me.

Meet Kaidence—the whole reason The Spirit Bloom exists. 🌸

If you know Kaidence, you know this girl LOVES her some Dr Pepper 😂🥤 so there was absolutely no question what her mum needed to be! We went ALL IN with the Dr Pepper theme—deep red, black, white, silver sparkle, bows, bling, her picture, homecoming details and, of course, Dr Pepper everywhere. ❤️✨

But what makes this one so special isn’t the ribbon or the rhinestones.

Without Kaidence, there would be no Spirit Bloom.

She was the inspiration that started all of this. One mum turned into another, then another…and somehow that little spark grew into something bigger than I ever imagined. 🌸

So getting to make her homecoming mum this year feels a little full-circle. 🥹

Kaidence, I hope you know that every mum hanging in my workroom, every late night covered in ribbon, every order that goes out the door and every memory The Spirit Bloom gets to be a tiny part of started because of you. ❤️

And naturally, the girl who started it all needed a mum that’s completely, unapologetically KAIDENCE. 🥤😂❤️

Some mums are just a little extra special to make… and this is definitely one of them. 🥹

This beauty was made for Riley’s girlfriend, Nicky, so you already know I had to put a little extra love into every single detail. ❤️ From the red and white gingham and layers upon layers of ribbon, to the sparkle, bling, #79, and those precious photos of the two of them—it’s completely her.

But my favorite part? It was designed to match her senior overalls! 😍 The mum and the overalls together are going to make the PERFECT senior homecoming look.

Big, sparkly, personalized, sentimental and full of memories—that’s exactly what a senior mum should be. Because years from now, it won’t just be something she wore to homecoming. It’ll be something she can look back at and remember her senior year, her #79, and all the memories that came with it. 🥹❤️

👑✨ MOMMA SAID BLING… and we understood the assignment! ✨👑

Miss Paisley is a pageant queen, so there was NO way her homecoming mum was going to be anything less than fabulous! ❤️🤍💎

We loaded this beauty with rhinestones, glitter, sparkle, custom ribbon and ALL the bling. Then we topped it off with her gorgeous glitter name and, of course, a gold crown fit for a queen! 👑

From the rhinestone-covered ribbons to the braids, curls, loops and layers, this one SPARKLES from top to bottom—and pictures don’t even do that bling justice! 😍✨

Can we just take a minute for Caroline’s gorgeous 7th Grade Mum?! 👑

This one is absolutely PACKED with details! Layers and layers of red, white, and silver, sparkling rhinestones, glitter, custom printed ribbon, volleyball accents, a glittery crown, her name front and center, and of course that #62 tucked in there! ❤️🤍✨

And those ribbons?! 😍 Braids, loops, curls, points, chains, sparkle…there is something to look at EVERYWHERE.

I love how this one turned out—big, bold, sparkly and completely customized just for her! That’s what makes these so much fun to create. No two have to be exactly alike. ❤️

🎀✨ THE ART OF A HOMECOMING MUM ✨🎀

Someone asked me how I would describe the art of making a homecoming mum, and I think I finally found the words…

A homecoming mum isn’t just a flower with some ribbons attached.

It’s part crafting, part designing, part storytelling… and apparently part endurance sport. 😂

There’s an art to choosing the right colors, mixing patterns and textures, layering ribbon, adding the perfect amount of bling ✨ and somehow making ALL of it come together.

There’s also an art to knowing when it needs just one more thing… and when it’s finally time to PUT. THE. GLUE. GUN. DOWN. 😂

But my favorite part is making each one personal.

The names. The numbers. The activities. The school colors. The special little details that represent the person who will wear it.

Because when you really think about it…

❤️ A homecoming mum is a wearable scrapbook of a moment in time—made from ribbon, sparkle, school spirit, and memories.

We take all those little pieces of who someone is and turn them into something they may only wear for one night, but hopefully remember for the rest of their life.

And THAT is why I love making them. 🥹🎀

Now, after making 50+ mums in one week, I would also officially like to nominate MUM MAKING AS AN OLYMPIC SPORT. 🏅😂

Because if you’ve never been surrounded by approximately 147 rolls of ribbon, enough bling to be seen from SPACE, vinyl scraps stuck to every piece of clothing you own, hot glue burns on your fingers, glitter absolutely EVERYWHERE, and three different projects going at the same time…

You just wouldn’t understand. 🤣🤣

And somehow, in the middle of all that beautiful chaos, another mum comes to life. ❤️

💕✨ A QUICK NOTE ABOUT CUSTOM PIECES ✨💕

As The Spirit Bloom continues to grow and we welcome so many new customers, we wanted to take a minute to explain a little more about how we create our custom mums! 💐

When you request a custom character, mascot, number, name, logo or other special design, our custom cutouts are generally handmade using cardstock and vinyl — just like the personalized names and many of the other custom details you see on our mums. ✂️💕 This allows us to customize colors, designs and details specifically for YOU while also helping us keep our prices affordable.

We do have a few plastic trinkets and embellishments left from last season that we occasionally use, but plastic character pieces and specialty trinkets are NOT something we currently stock or include as our standard custom pieces.

And one of the biggest reasons is COST! 💰

Specialty plastic pieces have to be individually purchased and shipped, and some can be surprisingly expensive. Adding these types of pieces could easily add $15+ PER PIECE to the price of your mum — and depending on the item, it could be even more.

🌸 HOWEVER, WE ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO OFFER MORE OPTIONS! 🌸

Beginning with our 2027 season, if you would like specialty plastic characters, trinkets or other specifically ordered embellishments, we will absolutely be willing to order them for you!

Please keep in mind:

✨ These pieces will be an ADDITIONAL cost on top of the regular price of your mum.

✨ Pricing will vary depending on the item and could be $15+ PER PIECE.

✨ Any specialty pieces that have to be ordered will be required to be PAID IN FULL UPFRONT before we place the order.

✨ These orders will need to be placed WELL in advance — potentially several months before Homecoming — so we have enough time to locate, order and receive your requested pieces.

💕 If you have something VERY specific in mind for your mum, please tell us when you order! If you are expecting a certain material, character, trinket or embellishment, let us know. The more details you give us, the better we can bring your vision to life!

Our goal has always been to provide beautiful, personalized mums at prices that are affordable for our local families. Creating our custom pieces from cardstock and vinyl is one of the ways we’re able to do that. 💐

And as always, if you ever receive an order and have a question or concern, PLEASE reach out to us directly. We are human, misunderstandings can happen, and we would much rather have the opportunity to talk with you and see what we can do than have anyone walk away unhappy. 💕

🌸 A little personal post from me tonight… 🌸

First, I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you so much to everyone who came out today, everyone who has ordered from us, shared our posts, recommended us, and continued to support The Spirit Bloom. It means more to me than you probably realize. ❤️

I also wanted to explain why we packed up a few minutes early today. That heat about did me in! 🥵

For those who don’t know me personally, in October 2024 I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Thankfully, my cancer was able to be removed, along with my right kidney, and I have done pretty well since then. But living with one kidney means I have to be a little more careful with things like dehydration and extreme heat. By the end of pickup today, my body was telling me it had had enough, and I needed to listen to it and get somewhere cool.

So, if you came by right at the end and missed us, I truly apologize. ❤️

I also want to say something else that I think is important…

I’m human. I make mistakes. Sometimes I may misunderstand an order, overlook something, or something simply may not turn out exactly the way you pictured it. If I ever make a mistake on your mum—or if you receive it and you’re just not happy with something—PLEASE reach out to me.

I will never be upset that you contacted me. I would much rather have the opportunity to fix something than have you walk away unhappy. I will do everything I reasonably can to make it right because seeing our customers happy is our first priority. 🌸

The Spirit Bloom has become so much more than I ever expected. It has given me the opportunity to stay home, take better care of my health, be there for my family, and still have something that allows me to create, work, and make other people happy.

And I couldn’t do any of that without YOU.
