Members of the Choristers sang the "National Anthem" on the final weekend of the Flying Mummies game! They also led the "7th Inning Stretch," high-fived Wilbur the mascot, and played various games between innings! A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you to the Flying Mummies for having us twice this season! And thank you to Ann Howard & Mike Henry, proud grandparents of Grace, for our caps "We sang at the Flying Mummies 2026"!

Community Choristers, you're on a website! I (Alisa Clapp-Itnyre) run an academic website "Sounding Childhood" with various older genres of children's music that I study: hymns, folksongs, Bands of Mercy, and Christmas carols. If you have ever sung any of these with me, your voices are now up--photos, too--as we share these wonderful, older songs to today's culture. Some, like Bands of Mercy, have NOT BEEN HEARD in 120 years! Check them out! Go to

Welcome to SOUNDING CHILDHOOD!A website devoted to 19th-century children's musicChildren were just as musical as adults during the 19th century, but little has been done to explore their music.  Neither was there the capability nor interest ...

We sang the "Star Spangled Banner" to open the "Flying Mummies" baseball game today, and the Choristers "knocked it out of the ballpark"🤣. And many singers stayed to watch the game and play the between-innings games too! Great job, everyone! We ended our Patriotic Hymn Camp with a bang!!

Pictures from our second concert at the Wayne County Fairgrounds Thursday night!!! Everyone loved these gifted singers and their meaningful patriotic hymns! Soloists were Gr We sang "My Country 'Tis of Thee" 1832 "sweet freedom's song" as we began our country (soloists Grace, then Norah & Arlow in the first 2 clips), then "O Beautiful for Spacious Skies" which reflects on the NATURAL BEAUTY of our country worth preserving (soloists Hope and Freya, 3rd clip), and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" as Julie Ward Howe reflected on our Civil War to end slavery: "As He died to make men holy, let us die [and live!] to make men free". We ended with a hymn for all nations (4th clip), haunting music by Jean Sibelius 1934: "O hear my song, thou God of all the nations, a song OF PEACE FOR THEIR LAND AND FOR MINE"! Happy 250th, everyone!

Here is our first concert, at the Leland Legacy. What a wonderful crowd! And what lovely singing! Take a listen! From "Amazing Grace" (also in Cherokee) to "Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies," it was a Patriotic tribute to America's 250th, with other beautiful hymns, too!🇺🇸 Come hear more Thursday 5pm at the Wayne Co. Fair ("Free Stage").
