Unofficial MoonFolk Tea Experience @ Wormtown Music Festival has come to an end. This was Teaman Phillup Cupps first time back at Wormtown since 2017. And it was a joyous occasion of reuniting with people who I haven't seen in years.
When I showed up I was hoping to see a Rainbow Woodstock Generation love puddle and that is surely what I witnessed from day one.
It reminded me why Wormtown was hometown and familytime. Unlike previous years when I worked for the festival and was situated front and center of all the people, this time I went unnoticed in the back of the woods by the crick. However, everything was truly a joy, on Friday we prepared the teacup spaceship and walked around the festival grounds handing out free tea to everyone who asked. In the forest we built a great village and everyone was invited, all our needs were met as everyone enjoyed each other's company. Showing the world is better because of others and when we all learn to work together.
We would personally like to thank Gabby Rodowicz who whenever I felt like quitting, upped the game by providing the resources needed, from the table, to the cabana, by Sunday our teahouse was built and proper. Even the tea itself aged well and there was still ice in the bins by Sunday, truly a miracle.
We would also like to thank Mitch Candiano for keeping the village fed all weekend, you are truly one of the great ones. And we cannot forget, Jeff King for the emotional and beautiful experience watching his late night open mic sets.
Highlites of the festival include Spirit Elevator, Dirtwire, Honeycomb and the Floozies. The fire spinners during Dirtwire were truly a gift of creation. And given the theme for this season is the union between Fire and Water, I saw this as perfect addition to the story.
I only have two complaints, I missed two bands I really wanted to see because of conflicting scheduling. Whoever decided Woody's Rebel Alliance and Consider the Source should share a time should be fired from scheduling next year. The other complaint comes from the heart and I don't have an answer, but on Sunday most people were so depressed when I looked at anyone they looked away. I was still full of joy from a good weekend I didn't understand, but I did hear lots of people fighting and it made me sad. Reminded me why I stopped coming, as a healer seeing so much pain is truly heart wrenching and as someone whose job it was to prevent such seeing such made me always feel like I was fighting a losing battle. After a while I left wondering if things would get better in my absence, since I wasn't here I will never know.
Though it isn't a complaint, I wanted any Taylor Swift song to be covered this weekend which I heard no one play, and that is okay, when I wore my Taylor Swift pj's one morning, the heckling commenced so maybe it's the wrong crowd, which is interesting cause so many call her Pop, but compared to most pop, she is alternative and Wormtown is also alternative so in my mind they fit perfectly. Though many people are brainwashed by Russian propaganda into hating Blessed Walt Disney. He personally helped a bunch of starving artists rise out of poverty and the dream he created is literally bringing the rainbow bridge to the globe. Personally, I could see every artist at the artist village being involved with Fantasia episodes. Fantasia was created during a time when psychedelics were not only legal but encouraged by celebrities as a medicine to cure the World War time blues, to help intergenerational solidarity, and to provide lubricant to the melting pot dream our liberal nation was founded on. Even Blessed Timothy Leary tried to warn everyone back in the 1950s that the conservatives in the US had been fully infiltrated by the Russians, sadly few people listened and many considered him a quack, however history has proven him correct with his assessments. We at the MoonFolk Tea Experience believe there are bridges here that should and must be activated.
On the last day I was asked if I would ever return, I mentioned how my prayer was that by showing up this year, the holistic village would magically be recreated next year and I would be asked to help create the feeling of hospitality. Who knows what the future holds, I don't, I will say I had a good time and the last time I went I was such a mess that this experience clearly overwrote that.
Far as the MoonFolk Tea Experience, I believe we inspired many people to think about sustainable space travel and coming together to love one another, and those are the missions of this voyage. So even though it was unofficial it was truly a miracle of creation.
(Dear David Gong Guy, my love stretches out forever in eternity, though you have passed away, you are always a part of us all now. Im sorry I broke my promise and didn't go to Strangecreek and then you died two weeks later, I went to Wormtown because of you alone, I most likely would have cancelled last minute, but I couldn't cause of you. May the heavens be a better place now that you are there. Beloved)
