Diabetic eye disease refers to a group of eye diseases caused by diabetes: diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and glaucoma. Diabetic retinopathy is the most common type of diabetic eye disease, and the longer you have diabetes, the higher the chance you’ll develop diabetic retinopathy which can lead to vision loss. Early detection is key!
