Nevada Chapter of the
Our monthly NPS meeting for January 2026 was a celebratory book release and writing workshop. Thank you to our special guest Crystal visiting from Las Vegas to help finish our 50th anniversary anthology. The book serves as a commemorative representation of the Nevada chapter within the National Federation of State Poetry Societies. We’re all greatly looking forward to the presentation of our work to the public at large. We had an epistolary poem for our monthly challenge, a passing out of the preordered copies of “SAGEBRUSH AND SILVER” and great conversations about goals for the upcoming year. HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY NPS!
Thank you to everyone who is actively working to bridge the gaps in our beloved poetry community! Thank you to everyone who tirelessly executes leadership roles to make things more accessible to others! Thank you to all of the poets near and far who accepted the challenge for the month and submitted poems! We all stepped up and accepted the call to write.

Today, June 15th, It was wonderful to meet with these lovely people at today! Due to prior engagements I unfortunately wasn’t able to meet for the May session of the Nevada Poetry Society. I’m so happy I was able to make it for the entire meeting this month. Thank you to everyone who gave me copies of their Haibun poems which was our challenge for this month. It was much needed to absorbing everyone’s words today who accepted the challenge within this unique form of poetry.
Unfortunately I was so wrapped up in meeting with other poets that I neglected to take a group photo in a timely fashion. By the time I thought of it, several people had already left while we were chatting afterward.
