This month on Maple's Historical Tails, we're counting down to Halloween by exploring it's various histories.

During the middle ages, as pagan communities adopted Christianity, Samhain transformed into All Hallows Eve (October 31st) and All Saint's Day (November 1st.) These were special days to pray for saints, martyrs, and the dead. People dressed in costumes and carved Jack O' Lanterns out of vegetables like turnips to frighten away evil spirits!

Waddles here! When I get all glowy and sparkly in the top corner of your screen, that means my powerup ability is ready to use! Just give me a tap, and I'll freeze time on the game board for a few seconds. You'll still be able to make words, so it's a great way to get a few extra moments to think!

This month on Maple's Historical Tails, we're counting down to Halloween by exploring it's various histories. Lots of cultures have had traditions that resemble the Halloween we celebrate today. In Celtic Ireland, Samhain was a yearly tradition on the final night of October, marking the transition from Summer to Fall. Stay tuned for more Halloween History in the coming weeks!

Waddles is here to help at the dig site!! Waddles is a bit anxious and a little chilly, but sweaters make him feel safe and comfy. Waddles has a unique powerup ability that briefly freezes time on the game board. You can still make words, so use it when you need a little extra time to think.

A new friend has arrived at the dig site! In this content update, we've added new features, new shop items, and our first new character, Waddles!

🐧 Waddles has a unique powerup ability that turns some letters on the board into empty blocks.
🎩 Costumes: two costumes are available for Waddles in the shop. Dress him up like a sailor or in a snazzy tuxedo!
🎮 Minigames: Play word-themed minigames between levels to earn some extra coins.
❄️ Letter Block: The empty block appears without a letter on it. It can be added into any valid word for extra points. You can unlock the empty block with coins in the shop, which means you can use it whether or not you’re playing as Waddles.
🤎 Pets: Sonja the Walrus is available to adopt!

You can download Word Age: The Grand Expedition from the App Store or Google Play store. If you already play, just update your game to access the new content!
