Got quoted $2,800 to repair animal damage around the chimney and replace some torn shingles. 🏠💸

I know roof work and chimney repairs add up fast, especially once ladders, flashing, and steep pitches get involved, but I’m trying to figure out if this price sounds reasonable or if I’m getting hit with the “homeowner special.” 😅

The contractor says the damage isn’t huge, but apparently it’s enough work to justify almost three grand.

Roofers and contractors — does $2,800 sound fair for this kind of repair, or would you be getting a second estimate before signing anything? 🤔

I want to break out this corner section of concrete.
Will the concrete break naturally along the joint or do a risk cracking the other concrete as well?

The corner was poured after the other concrete and the other concrete surrounds the pool.

Footer question. This does not look right to me. Contractor says he’s going to backfill with dirt. Common sense tells me that the water will drain down to where the concrete is and just sit there and eventually rob the post out even worse for the one that’s right up next to my houses foundation. Am I understanding is that they should be 2 to 6 inches above grade level?
