I have been meaning to share this story FOREVER, (well, since it happened in September) and Claudia, my dear friend (&gorgeous bride pictured) got to it before I could. It was THE FUNNEST SURPRISE, hopping on a plane at 4am to make it to their 2pm wedding (terrifying), secretly scheming with friends to arrange rides & overnight stays, and oh my word I am so so glad I got to come celebrate you, beautiful friend!!!! Here’s the story (written by Claudia) —
One of my dear friends from [college], Korianne Korianne Stout // Fine Artist is an exceptionally talented artist and live wedding painter (seriously, you HAVE to check her out!). When Houston and I got engaged and chose a wedding date, she told me she was so sorry to have to miss because she had 2 weddings that weekend. On the morning of our wedding, she sent the sweetest text wishing us a happy wedding day and said that she would send a gift along soon. Little did I know how truthful she was being!
After wedding party and family photos we took a moment to cool off inside, then our photographers and my parents beckoned us to come back outside for a few more pictures. We walked out the door and standing there was Korianne! It turns out that all along my amazing parents had secretly commissioned Korianne to come and do a live wedding painting for us. I was pretty surprised, as you might can tell!
What was already the most beautiful day became even more special and memorable in an instant. It is such an honor to have such a unique and lovingly handmade piece of art in our home, and our guests were enamored watching Korianne’s talent unfold. The painting is displayed proudly in our living room as one of our cherished possessions, and will hopefully one day be surrounded by some of our stunning wedding photographs if I can ever get my act together and hang them. It serves as the perfect reminder that we have been so loved and supported by our families and friends every day of our marriage, and we know we will continue to be for all the months and years to come.
(Thank you for sharing, Claudia!!! I love you! 🤍🤍🤍)
