Unfiltered moment:

Itā€™s so easy to make live wedding painting look glamorous. There are a lot of beautiful moments, for sure!!

But in reality, MOST of the work looks like this: long & often late hours hunched over a well-used easel in our unaesthetic spare room, accompanied by paintings of couples in love, the baby monitor, and the studio pup who was beside me long before the business.

Making time to paint even when I donā€™t feel ā€œinspiredā€, because deadlines donā€™t wait for inspiration ā€” these paintings have to go home. Sometimes I definitely bite off a bit more than I can chew šŸ˜… Iā€™m still definitely experimenting with where my limit should be for wedding capacity in the coming years, to improve my turnaround time a bit. But as I paintā€¦ I am always beyond grateful for every hour of work which helps provide us with a life we love. šŸ¤

Weā€™re home, the fam&house are *mostly* resettled & unpacked, so now itā€™s time toā€¦
GUSH ABOUT KAYLA & VALENTYNā€™S INCREDIBLE WEDDING IN COSTA RICA!!! šŸ‡ØšŸ‡·šŸ’āœØ

I have been thoroughly overthinking how to share our quick& incredible adventure getting to check off ā€œinternational Live Wedding Paintingā€ off my bucket list(ā€¼ļø) ā€” a photo dump will do *for now*, but i have got some stories to share!!!

For now, the highlights:

šŸŒ‹the Arenal volcano, one of Costa Ricaā€™s six active volcanoes - the focal point every time we stepped outside!! The local vendors told us it was incredibly rare how it was for Arenal to be in full visibility on the wedding day, as it usually has cloud cover being above the rainforest! And it was sunny the entire time we were there! Blessings from God for K&V šŸ˜

āœˆļøthe passports that I FORGOT AT HOME and my friend had to overnight them to mešŸ« 

šŸ¦ŽšŸ¦ŽšŸ¦Ž cool lizards & birds everywhere!

šŸ‘«šŸ» mom&dad getting to dress up and go on an adventurešŸ„°

šŸŖ°rainforest bugs liked my painting light (this was not the first cicada in the paintā€¦ or the secondā€¦ or the thirdšŸ¤£) The painting was cut a little short by said bugs, but it will sparkle soon šŸ˜

šŸŒŠ the hot springs!!

šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’and most importantly, the most beautiful, gracious highschool sweethearts who love to travel, celebrating the rest of their lives together with the people they love the most (and inviting us along - thank you again&again!!!!!šŸ„¹ā¤ļø) Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Tukalevskyy!!!

A little post-break update about what Iā€™ve been up to! Painting, family, hobbies, a trip to the ER, etc.

Despite really not posting all that much in the recent months, I have found social media just eating through my time. Whether itā€™s time spent actually scrolling, or time thinking about what I should post, feeling guilty for not posting ā€œenoughā€ā€¦ itā€™s using up valuable brain space!

So, Iā€™ve decided to take a Lent-esque break from social media. I am really excited to see how this break frees up my brain to be present with my beautiful family during the remainder of slow season, and to focus on the most important parts of my business: serving my couples & painting at weddings, finishing the portraits in studio, and getting them home. In addition to that, Iā€™m hoping at the end of this Iā€™ll be a little less addicted to my phone and more tuned into the precious blessings of real, slow, everyday life. šŸ¤ Thank you, God, for providing everything I have!

When I come back, there are some REEEEEALLLLYYY exciting things happening that I am absolutely puuuuumped for (my first international wedding?!!!!!) šŸ¤©šŸ¤© Iā€™ll be back in time for that, promise šŸ˜
