Back in early 2013, I set myself a goal to one day ski a double black diamond. At the time I had just skied my first black diamond in Park City, UT. Fast forward to 2019, I flew out to Washington State in February to hopefully ski my very first double black diamond, and I did! It was insane to say the least. I can proudly say that Upper International at Alpental, was my first double black diamond I have ever skied. Never would have thought that my first double black would be one of the steepest runs in the state, but hey I’m cool with that 🤷🏻‍♂️

One thing I loved about skiing in WA was not only the breath-taking views, but also shredding through the fog and low-hanging clouds. Visibility was often low but it just added on to the experience. I was very lucky enough to be out there during the “snowpocalypse” or “snowmageddon”, which is what the locals call these rare massive snowstorms. Every day of skiing was nothing but fresh powder, and I am extremely thankful for that. 🌲🌲🌲🌲
