Tamisha Waden is a well known singer/songwriter who's worked with everyone from hip hop heavyweights Phonte and The Foreign Exchange, and Pharoahe Monch to Hiss Golden Messenger and Phil Cook.

JWaves is Carrboro's hip hop artist whose unique style is showcased in his original productions and high-energy live shows.

Gates and Food Trucks at 5pm, concert begins at 6pm!

And since it's gorgeous outside, we've moved the Pre-show Talk to the Talley Student Union 3rd Floor Outdoor Terrace, next to Stewart Theatre. Come meet Martha at 7pm on this beautiful evening! 🌤🤩❤️

Martha Redbone is known for her unique gumbo of folk, blues, and gospel from her childhood in Harlan County, Kentucky infused with the eclectic grit of pre-gentrified Brooklyn. With songs and storytelling that share her life experience as a Native and Black woman in the new millennium, Redbone bridges traditions from past to present and celebrates the human spirit.

SPEAK is a sensational kathak and tap collaboration created and choreographed by Leela Dance Collective founding artists Rina Mehta & Rachna Nivass and guest collaborators, tap artists Michelle Dorrance and Dormeshia.

Described by LA Dance Chronicle as “an evening of rhythmic magic,” #SPEAK serves as a bridge between two art forms that are continents and ages apart. Though aesthetically different, they share virtuosic rhythmic expression and parallel stories of struggle and perseverance.

Join us for a FREE tap and kathak dance class and community jam session on Tuesday, April 12th with the co-creators of SPEAK, acclaimed Indian Kathak dancers Rina Mehta and Rachna Nivas with fierce tap dancers Dormeshia and Michelle Dorrance. 🤩🤩🤩🤩
