This week has been the hardest of my life.

This week I was going to share happy news with you, I was going to celebrate thanksgiving with friends and family & tell them a great secret I’ve been keeping.

Instead this week I lost my baby.
I miscarried at 11 weeks and began to hemorrhage. I almost lost my life along with my child. Our family Thanksgiving was spent in a cold ER, with fear & anxiety.

I am so grateful to be alive, but I am sad, grieving & angry. It feels hard just to breathe.

I am slowly coming back to work. Im on meds but still very weak and may need another procedure next week if the meds don’t work.

If I have not responded to your emails, calls, texts or if you are a vendor I’ve been late to meet with or respond to this week, I’m so sorry. Please be patient with me.

If you are inclined to prayer or healing thoughts they are all greatly appreciated 🙏🏻❤️

Our “Parisian nights” wine dinner was nothing short of incredible.

Chef out did himself by playing up classics like Niçoise salad & traditional ratatouille.

The weather was mild & the stars were out. Plenty of good wine and great company!

🚨😍Time for an update!!! 🚨😍

I’ve been very quite on what’s happening behind the scenes in our new space!

Finally I can share some awesome news with you guys 😆👇

-We got windows!!! Been waiting on this essential part for a while, but they are here and they are thicck…with 2 ccs 🙌

- My friend and former colleague, Chris, at is building us a custom bar area! This part is really special to me. During my time in optometry we encouraged each other to pursue our dreams (and not work 9-5s the rest of our lives).
I left optometry and started Joy Worthy. Soon after Chris left to start

I didn’t know it at the time but he said my leap of faith to start was part of what inspired him to take his own leap.
Now 2 years later we are able to work together again, but this time we’re each pursuing our dreams!!! Talk about a full circle.
It gave me a feeling that Joy Worthy Co. is really going to make positive impacts on people in so many different ways ❤️

-Met with the coolest artist to chat about paint colors, murals, the possibility of a painted n**e man (cause every space needs that mural, right?! 🫣) and to collaborate on some other dope ideas 🎨

-I’ll be doing the bathroom Reno myself. Swipe for before pics….Stay tuned for after! Please donate so ya girl can afford a sink 🥴🙏🏻

-And finally, I got a “Coming soon” Sign! …it’s making everything feel real 🥹🥹🥹

Hey Friends!

Most of you guys know I’m working to open Joy Worthy Co’s first official space in downtown Raleigh!
This space will host bomb events led by local businesses, artists, chefs & makers in our Raleigh community!
My goal is to help local makers display/sell their creations, help with supplies & of course to host more cool events!
If you’ve already been to a class you know I work out of a great coworking space, but our instructors (myself included) are lugging supplies to & from home. My apt is literally a mini now Lol!
I haven’t been able to get a business loan(yet), despite having good credit & almost all qualifiers. So everything I’ve done so far has been on my own. I’m a one income household with a kiddo so lenders are politely noting the only hiccup is my households “debt-income ratio”.
Don’t worry though, this isn’t going to stop me!
I’m applying for grants. I refinanced my car.
Joy Worthy Co is coming to downtown Raleigh! No matter what! 🥳
I’ve been hesitant to do a starter, but it’s either this or stop & I won’t stop!

So will you help me create some Joy!?
