Dear QBRWA Members,
The Scholarship Winners were announced at the Junior Awards Ceremony on July 19th and published to all QBRWA members on July 22nd.
All applications submitted for the 2026 Scholarships were outstanding. The essay topic was ‘Do you believe schools should ban smartphones?’ The essays were comprehensive and outstanding. Thoughtful and inspiring reflections on personal experience as well as observed use and misuse were discussed and reflected upon to form their position. All deserve recognition for their submissions.
The 2026 QBRWA Scholarship Winners were:
Henry Lamb Family Scholarship - $1000
Tristan Andre, Wollaston Yacht Club, attending Webb Institute and majoring in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
Liberty Bay Credit Union Scholarship - $1000
Emma March, Wessagussett Yacht Club, attending University of Rhode Island and majoring in Health Science
QBRWA - $1000
Susan Leuchte, Town River Yacht Club , attending College of the Holy Cross and majoring in History and Pre-law
Frank and Margaret Heran Scholarship - $ 500
Lyndsay Bekerian, Metropolitan Yacht Club, attending University of MA Amherst and majoring in Finance
