Dear Teachers,

We want to make sure you know about an opportunity that could bring a unique hands-on arts experience to
your classroom — and the deadline is TODAY, September 30!

Sewessentials is excited to offer classroom hand-sewing projects that combine the art of sewing with
subjects your students are already learning.
Our projects are designed for different ages and grade levels and can connect sewing to history,
geography, art, STEM, character education, sustainability, and more.

CLASSROOM POSSIBILITIES
• Creating a quilt block while learning about the Civil War
• Exploring cultures and geography through textile traditions
• Creating a “Stitch of Kindness” project
• Learning how sewing has changed throughout American history
• Learning how families “Made Do & Mend” during WWII while practicing real mending skills

These are not simply craft projects. Students are learning by doing — developing creativity, patience,
problem-solving skills, and the confidence that comes from making something with their own hands.

If your school or classroom is eligible for the Arts Grant, we encourage you to apply and consider
including a Sewessentials classroom sewing experience in your proposal.

THE DEADLINE IS TODAY— SEPTEMBER 30!

John Venegoni… to know him is to love him!

John Venegoni has been the creator of many masks and has now moved onto quilt tops for children’s bedding! This Golden K Kiwanis member is such a fun guy and cares deeply about kids.

We think that any man who wants to learn sewing should forget about the stereotype and pursue his interest.

And that’s just what the “boys” from Golden K Kiwanis did. Their mission of helping kids became a hands on project with the Mask-Up Project to help provide 15,000 masks for kids and faculty in our community! We’re proud of you Golden K Kiwanis… you reaching out to us (Sewessential’s) says more than you’ll ever know!

We think they should do an annual photo calendar like the fireman in other cities have done. Great fundraiser wouldn’t you say?
