Rose of Judah
let her play among the pulps and flowers
swaying with the breeze
contagious laughter brushes off catcalls from thorns
strolling between carnations, daisies and jasmines
with an entourage of birds, bees, and butterflies
she blends in with softness
I can take this into the far side
bury my face in the colors of life & subside
I'm eclipsed and dazed by that beautiful face
so let her be
What do I see in nature?
a Judaean rose escapade,
extending the elixir of her smile
equalizing my epidemic
forever, those beautiful eyes
will her vision ever target me?
Oh, how I wish to be victimized by her
my Judaean rose
the colors of humanity blended in her skin
history melted into the color of her eyes
languages spoken tattooed on her lips
and that midline diastema smile is such a killer
so let her run barefooted
like a soft current between the hills
as I envy nature gracing her presence
in the 20-something years of her gentle tyranny
I huddled with loneliness & humility
on how to inhale the breath of her breath
not to arouse suspicion around her
in the backfield gardens of Netanya
for something in me spoke that I adored her
corroborated by archives from my failed past
to the depriving present noted so
she mingles with the sisterhood of flowers & tulips
about everything and nothing, just passing time
guarded by young bloods, keeping admirers like me at bay
a hand out of stray laughters is all I could grasp
she knows my name, my pulse
will she ever reciprocate?
I’m on the other side in the garden of stone
waiting for the rose of Judah to acknowledge me
