Zoa Gardens...
You can build a nice reef without breaking the bank. Zoanthids grow fast and with vibrant colors. You can buy a frag with just a few polyps and it will fill in pretty fast. Feed them and they will grow like grass.

If your like me you change the colors and placement as the coral fills in. That's one of the best part about Zoa's. You can place them just about anywhere and they will adjust pretty quickly.

Candy Corn Chalice...
One of my favorites. Purchased from Tidal Gardens over a year ago. Its a slow grower, but worth the wait. I have grow these under different water conditions and light exposures.

Frags Have Teeth Too...
This Raja Rampage frag is reaching out to find room to grow. They are fine together, but may not get along with other chalice corals.

Unlike most Torch Family Corals that can be placed side by side or most Hammer Family Corals that can also be placed side by side, most different chalice corals can not be mixed together.

Night Time Photo
Symphyllia Wilsoni Rainbow (reclassified in 2016 as Australophyllia wilsoni)
Is a highly coveted, fleshy large polyp stony (LPS) coral endemic to Western Australia.
Renowned for its dramatic, multi-colored "rainbow" patterns and intricate, maze-like skeletal structures, it is considered a premium centerpiece showpiece for advanced marine aquarists.

Raja Rampage: Night Shot with the light quickly turned on to catch the color of the coral and the extended feeder tentacles reaching out. They can reach twice as far as you will see in the video. Like most Chalice Corals, you have to give them some room in the tank or they will sting/burn everything around them. They are fine next to other Raja Rampage, but no other Chalice corals..

Turbo snails (primarily Turbo fluctuosus and Turbo castanea) are large, fast-moving marine invertebrates widely used as the "heavy machinery" of saltwater aquarium Cleanup Crews (CUC). Known for their rounded, turban-shaped shells, they possess a massive appetite that makes them highly effective at clearing large outbreaks of problematic algae.

Key Characteristics & Diet
Heavy Algae Consumers: Turbo snails are famous for their ability to rapidly devour large amounts of green hair algae, film algae, diatoms, and cyanobacteria. Their large rasping tongues (radula) can clean entire patches of rock overnight.

Bulldozing Habit: Because they grow much larger than Astrea snails (up to 2 inches or more), they can easily knock over unfastened corals, loose rockwork, and frag plugs. The "Flip"

Advantage: Unlike Astrea snails, Mexican Turbo Snails (Turbo fluctuosus) are generally able to flip themselves back over if they fall upside down, making them much hardier against accidental starvation or predator attacks.

Top Turbo Snail Species
Mexican Turbo Snail (Turbo fluctuosus): The most popular choice for reef tanks. They originate from sub-tropical and tropical Eastern Pacific waters, meaning they adapt well to standard reef temperatures. They are highly active and excellent at self-righting.

Chestnut Turbo Snail (Turbo castanea): A slightly smaller, attractive species with a bumpy, distinct shell. They are great for medium-sized tanks but have a slightly lower tolerance for high water temperatures.Crucial Care Instructions & Risks

Starvation Danger: Due to their massive appetite, a small group of Turbo snails can completely strip a tank of algae in days. Once the natural algae is gone, you must supplement their diet with dried seaweed (nori) clipped to the glass, or they will quickly starve.

Acclimation & Water Quality: Turbo snails require a slow drip acclimation of 1 to 2 hours. They are highly sensitive to copper medications, high nitrates, and low calcium levels, as they need calcium to maintain their thick shells.

Shell Hijacking:
Hermit crabs will actively hunt and kill Turbo snails if they need a larger shell. Ensure your tank has plenty of empty, un-occupied shells scattered around to protect your snails.

Tank Parameter Requirements
Temperature: 72°F - 78°FSpecific Gravity / Salinity: 1.023 - 1.025pH: 8.1 - 8.4Calcium: 350 - 450 ppm

Chalice mainly feed at night. Yes you can initiate a feeding response with consistent day feeding to by using a feeding response additive...

Or you can simply feed them when they are naturally reaching for food. This Night video of our Raga Rampage shows its hungry night time feed habits.

Also a good lesson on why you should not place Chalice Corals too close to other corals... They reach pretty far and pack quite a wallop!

Goniopora Corals are the grail of the hobby. Glitter Bomb was an expensive sought after piece a few years back and now the same frags that sold then for over $300 are available for under $50.

The same can be said for Bounce "anything", todays "Must Have" coral. It started with Bounce Mushrooms and now has expanded to Bounce Chalice Corals...

The Raja Rampage Chalice that you see in the video sold a year ago for over $100. Now you can buy them for $20. We sell frags for $10 locally.

Your opinion... Are you willing to pay top dollar for today's "Must Have" Coral?
