National Lentil Festival Our area of eastern Washington and northern Idaho, the Palouse Region, grows a third of the lentils in the United States.

👑Calling all future Lil’ Lentil Royalty! Applications are now open for the 2026 National Lentil Festival Lil’ Lentil King and Queen.

Children entering grades 1-6 who live in Whitman or Latah counties are invited to apply for the chance to represent the National Lentil Festival and the Palouse as youth ambassadors for the coming year. From community appearances to festival fun, it’s an unforgettable opportunity to celebrate what makes our region special.
