Innocent Uprising

Innocent Uprising Singer Songwriter Innocent Uprising was an epic, whirling ambient harmonic adventure. Lead guitarist; Travis McVey. With new members, Michael Gravel; lead guitar.

They drew a lot of attention to the Southern New England area and all over Rhode Island. Comprised of two brothers Sean Nicholas; lead vocals and Kyle Nicholas; vocals and guitar. Bassist; Bobby Terrien, and drummer; Jason Mottle. IU always brought a mixture of mostly originals and a few covers to every show. From summer house parties to the House of Blue's in Boston Ma, The band was able to produ

ce a very unique and energetic performance. They brought a newer sound to the Rhode Island music scene, comprised of a fused indy progressive alternative reggae and rock that was influenced from roots reggae artist; Bob Marley. The legendary jam/psychedelic band; Grateful Dead. Earth pounding metal/ hip hop band; Rage Against the Machine, Ska/Reggae/Rock band; Sublime and arguably the most successful underground independent band; Dispatch. These influences sparked the writing of their first EP "Full Circle" in 2008 with tracks such as fan favorites,"Destination Anywhere and "Hate to Say I Told You So" written by Sean Nicholas and Travis McVey. IU performed at venues such as Lupo's with Steel Pulse, Jerky's with Spiritual Rez and Newport Blue's with the Rustic Overtones. Following the raw sounding EP, they decided to record two tracks in 2009 with Grammy winning producer/engineer Jack Gauthier, at Lake West Studios. The tracks were "Show a Friendly Fist" and "Between the Lines," written by Kyle Nicholas. The tracks really showed off their talents and boosted the real potential for the band. Later playing on stages with The Wailers at Lupo's and competing in a National Battle of the Bands advancing to the finals at The House of Blue's in Boston. Unfortunately the band came to a sudden stop at the end of 2009. Later in 2010, Innocent Uprising lead by Sean and Kyle Nicholas decided to transition into a cover band, but still playing out select original songs. Travis, Bobby and Jason decided to leave to pursue other music projects as well as education. Jason Plotkin; bassist. Vinny Lepore;drummer. Kyle and Sean were able to pick up right where they left off. Performing at summer parties and other venues, they were blowing the roof off once again. Deciding to part ways in late 2010, Innocent Uprising was once again down to two. Sean and Kyle Nicholas continued to perform as a duo. Presently, Kyle performs as solo artist in Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts. You can follow him here on facebook at Kyle Nicholas Music or visit his website at www.kylenicholasmusic.com

You can also catch Kyle performing with his brother Sean as well as other singer, Adam Cardillo at select shows.
