Congratulations to our own Paxton L. for earning the role Bard in the 2027 All-Ohio Thespians Show GRIEF CAMP by Eliya Smith. Impressively, there are only 9 roles in this year’s show. He, his cast mates and the crew will be working this summer with the playwright, the director SMJ and the rest of the creative staff as they prepare to screen the production for the 2027 International Thespian Festival prior to it being featured at the Ohio Thespian Festival next April.

Our final reveal of Liberty Theater Workshop's 2026-2027 season: The Writers Block is our spring musical, FINDING NEVERLAND with a book by James Graham and music and lyrics by Gary Barlow & Eliot Kennedy

Based on the Academy Award-winning motion picture and the play THE MAN WHO WAS PETER PAN by Allan Knee, FINDING NEVERLAND follows the relationship between playwright J.M. Barrie and the family that inspired PETER PAN, or THE BOY WHO WOULDN'T GROW UP.

J.M. Barrie, a struggling playwright, encounters a widowed mother, Sylvia Llewelyn Davies and her four sons in London’s Kensington Park. As Barrie befriends the family, he is inspired by their adventures, particularly Peter, who is reluctant to play due to his grief over the loss of his father. Barrie helps him to learn to play again and becomes inspired to create a new art form: children's theatre. But who will pay to see a play about children? Who will play these characters? And how will they make Peter Pan fly?

Find out the answers to all these questions and more when Liberty Theater Workshop proudly presents FINDING NEVERLAND this spring.

Tickets for most performances of FINDING NEVERLAND go on sale to the public June 8 at noon.

Tickets for the Thursday evening Family and Friends Preview are available for a limited time using the Family and Friends passcode. Any remaining tickets for the preview go on sale to the public at noon on February 18, 2027.

Reveal four of the Writers Block is our first show of the season. Liberty Theater Workshop presents THE PLOT, LIKE GRAVY, THICKENS by Billy Wayne St. John this November 20-22, 2026.

Our story opens as the playwright Walter is writing his next big murder mystery. The problem he faces is that after introducing the audience to tyrannical millionaire Edward Worthington's relatives, business associates and household staff – most of whom have a reason to wish the man dead – Walter has no idea who is the murderer in his own play. Gathered on a stormy evening at Worthington Manor to celebrate Edward's 50th birthday are his attractive current wife, her pl***oy brother, Edward's befuddled older sister, his ex-wife and his college-aged daughter. Also present are his shady lawyer, his uptight business manager with his giddy wife, and Edward’s southern belle secretary, as well as the butler, the housekeeper, the maid and the cook. Each has a motive that is barely established when the lights go out! Seconds later, the electricity comes back on to reveal the knife for the birthday cake protruding from Edward's back. Now, Walter needs the audience’s help in determining who murdered Edward. Join us in November for this immersive and interactive murder mystery comedy.

Our next reveal is not as much a reveal as it is the return of a much missed event! The Senior Showcase, Theater Awards and International Thespian Society Troupe #6635 Induction Ceremonies

Join us on the evening of May 7, 2027 as we showcase our graduating seniors, recognize our troupe's accomplishments and celebrate our newest thespians. The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the United States. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond those of our local school. We haven't held a true formal induction ceremony since before COVID-19 changed everything, and it's about time for its return. Our adjusted season dates allow us to bring back one of our favorite nights of the year!

The second reveal of "the writers block" is the third show of our 2026-27 season - a FESTIVAL OF ONE-ACT PLAYS directed and written by 2027 Liberty Theater Workshop Seniors running January 22-24, 2027.

Liberty Theater Workshop is thrilled to align our winter production with the Ohio Thespian Festival and the International Thespian Festival Chapter Select program. ITF's Chapter Select One-Act Showcase features simply staged one-acts that celebrate storytelling and highlight outstanding student performances that utilize skills such as concept, ensemble, characterization, voice and pacing. The unique performance opportunity emphasizes the heart of theatrical endeavors: storytelling. As such, it prioritizes simplicity in the interest of showcasing students' imaginative storytelling abilities.

Our recorded submission will compete with others from around the state to have an opportunity to showcase it live at the Ohio Thespian Festival in April in hopes of being nominated by our state chapter to perform at the International Thespian Festival in Louisville next June.
