Prior to me becoming the Vice President of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Recording Academy I thought that the Grammy voting process was based upon a few out of touch industry people who had no clue about good music. As I’ve learned over the last couple of years is that it is actually voted on by peer members (Producers, Writers, Artists, Composers etc).

So Participation in the voting process is critical to upholding the integrity of music’s only peer-voted honor. If you're a voting member, be sure to cast your Final Round ballot by Jan. 4!

LOVE:
Understanding your value, Embracing it, and Walking in it.

FORGIVENESS:
Giving yourself grace and acknowledging that you are an ever growing human being, wonderfully flawed, and made choices based on your level of knowledge, maturity, and level of discipline at that time. Owning it, but not letting it define you. Forgiving yourself for carrying trauma, guilt, and pain that you didn’t create, yet it was imposed upon you.

CHOICES:
Once you’ve identified the above two, then you are now accountable for the CHOICES you make in how you will move forward in your life, relationships, business, etc.

We are living in a time where these core principles battle against the drug of “ATTENTION” “LIKES” which masks itself as “LOVE”…..

These core principles is what drives the coaching system..

some people may say about me behind my back or on Social Media.. My response is that I'm more bothered by the people who say that they rock with me, that allow them to say it (If it’s not true) and go unchecked"

I’ve been through enough in my life to come to the realization that some people aren’t comfortable with themselves, loving up on themselves enough, or are addicted to attention so much that they’ve lost the capacity to have positive, intentional, and meaningful dialogue.

Before I could even sit down with a client that I’m coaching, I’ve had to look my own self in the mirror and have that candid conversation to how I wanted people to feel when they walked away from conversations with me.

They’ll walk away Burdened with negative energy they’d have to process or looking forward to the next conversation.

That’s Family or Friends…. What are your thoughts?

I’ve found myself in multiple conversations both from a local and national perspective on this whole issue of violence in our communities.

No matter how the incidents are presented, a large majority of these situations are as a result of an inability to manage feelings (emotions).

We as a people have been desensitized from the human experience, become hyper sensitive, and have adopted a digitized system of value void of actual reality (i.e. Social Media, Media, etc).

“Just because you “FEEL” something, doesn’t make it reality nor mean you dismiss all wisdom and common sense to follow them….

“FEELINGS ARE THERE TO INFORM YOU, NOT TO LEAD YOU”

We are witnessing a whole movement of craziness and violence fueled me by people following feelings, and in some cases using the term “It’s My Truth”..

We need a reset of minds and values to bring it back to valuing lives.

We have to stop enabling people by not speaking truthfully just because we don’t want to rub them to not “Like” you…

Let’s not just talk about it, let’s be about the intentional change.

The 1st round of Grammy submissions and voting are done and I just wanted to thank peers within the who considered me and my projects for your vote. Thank you to everyone who participated in the experience of helping me bring this vision to life, from the cover design, photographers, cover participants, to all of the incredible artists, musicians, and engineers who lended their gifts to these projects… Thank You!

The biggest accomplishments in these projects was showing the example to the next generation of creatives the power in “Relational Currency” and What it looks like when Vets in the game pour into the younger generation without the need to have to control their narratives.. Also to show my youngins that there are Vets willing to support, listen, and give you wisdom if you are willing to respect and receive it.

Personally, to have reached a place in my life to not only be able to have music considered in a Grammy space, much more being elected as the Vice President of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Recording Academy is out of this world, considering my life journey.

All I can say is God has been and continues to be good, even through the struggles, the pains, the disappointments, and all of the times I’ve fallen short… I wouldn’t be the man that I am today, nor would I be prepared for all of the awesome experiences that are still yet to come had I not gone through every single thing.

May my life be a reflection of His awesomeness…

That is the real “Testimony”
