I just finished my first mural!🥳

I learned so much and am so excited to do more! I totally feel like this is the direction I want to go in with my art, painting botanical murals.

I’m also extremely grateful for my good friend, Sheena who gave me carte blanche with this project and trusted me with her wall.😄 She’s in Singapore so I’d send her progress pictures - she luckily loved what I was drawing.🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏾

I painted this picture after we left Portland. We spent SO much time and have so many memories at the Oregon coast and playing in the sand…this was our family’s happy place.

There are so many things I loved about living out there - I LOVED my lifestyle, my neighborhood, my home and friends. I NEVER took it for granted and would often say out loud how grateful I was to live there…I truly loved where I lived.

After I finished this painting, someone pointed out that they saw a doorway of a house in the sky. I hadn’t noticed it before but I subconsciously painted my home. This is my front door to the beautiful bungalow my husband and I restored and raised our babies in. There was something super special about that house and my heart aches when I think of it.❤️‍🩹

There are so many lessons to be learned from making changes, taking risks, and doing things that make you uncomfortable.

Sometimes our reasons aren’t always about what makes us happy, but what is necessary and right at the time.

My heart will always long for the beautiful PNW.

I almost gave up my studio last week.

I started packing up but then got so sad while emptying it; I realized just how much joy I get from having a space that’s just mine…a place to go and create, clear my head, and make a mess if I wanted to - I am a very messy creative.

I also deleted all of my posts on social. The weird thing is FB suddenly started telling me to keep it up because my views were on the rise!😂🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t get it but since I’m staying, I thought I’d add my art back on my page and move forward.
