Honest Art Co.

Honest Art Co. My name is Neely, and my goal is to provide affordable art to people all over the world. My name is Neely. I'm a 23 year old artist based in the Chicago Area.

My goal is to provide quality art for low income families and people, hopefully, all over the world. My rates have never been set in stone, and I pride myself in that. In fact, that's the whole reason I work by the hour. You shouldn't have to pay for work I didn't put in. From memorial portraits to digital OC adaptations and even corporate logos, I am willing to illustrate it all! While I do speci

alize in photo-realism, I just want to make people happy with the art I create. Shoot me a message if there's something you want done that isn't outlined in my rate system.

If any of you know my son, you know he's always been a genuinely happy kid. I've taken so many photos of him over the years, in an attempt to capture his smile and dimples in all their glory.

This time, I thought it would be fun to draw him instead and see if I could capture that same joy. Plus, I also wanted to see if I still had my drawing skills since it's been a few years since my last portrait ๐Ÿ˜…. Not only has it been my fastest portrait to date, I'd even go so far as to say it's my -best- one to date.

Without further ado, here's "Cheese!" I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed drawing it!

Long time, no see!

One of my goals for 2023 is working on my mental health, and in turn, that means finally making my way through my 19-person waitlist so I can open commissions again. I'm not quite ready to begin accepting new projects, but in due time, promise!

In the meantime, I have updated my pricing to reflect my growth as an artist, as well as adjust for Post-Covid material costs among other things.

That said, I'm still that same girl with the same goal of making art that is actually affordable for low income households. If you see a rate below that doesn't fit your budget, or you're like one of the millions of Americans that is struggling to recover in this awful economy, let me know. I will work with you on customizing my rates to suit your needs.

If you have a project for me that's not on this infographic, shoot me a message, and I'll see what I can do!

The client has received his early birthday gift and I have finally been given permission to post!

This one I am pretty proud of as it was a two piece commission and full of firsts. I never really learned how to draw grass, trees, or clouds, so nailing the depth was quite the challenge for me.
That, and this is both my first and second drawing of a dog in full color.
And a human for that matter! The only other person I've drawn in color is myself! (And well, now my last commission, but at the time of drawing, it was my first!)

Having said that, I'd say I did pretty well. I'm happy and the client's even happier!

This is it! This is the last commission I did, and while it certainly won't be my last ever, it's still the end of an era, or rather the beginning of a new one. Now, I'm going to do something a bit selfish and focus on making original pieces with no deadlines! It's not like art has been a burden, but it has always been a major source of stress in my life. Hopefully, art will become something I truly love doing again, whether it take a few weeks or a few months... Well that's my goal anyway.

And I find it sweet that my last commission for the moment was actually a retirement gift. After all, isn't retirement the beginning of a new chapter in ones life as well?

*Also, I do have two more commissions to post, I did a total of 3 throughout the quarantine! So, once I get the go ahead, y'all will also have that to look forward too.
**Although commissions are now closed, I still have a list of names that I will refer to once I open them again, anyone who wants something done by me is still more than welcome to message me, and their name will be added to that list!

So thankful for a boss who was willing to trust me with a Christmas window mural for his business! AND with only one rule: keep it classic. It's easily the largest project I've done yet and measured a whopping 60 linear feet!!! Featuring four christmas-time favorites and some of my best work.

Come by US 20 Laundry if you want to check it out in person, and drop some clothes off while you're at it!
