Back to What I Love – Rediscovering Art & Creativity
Life has a way of pushing us in directions we never imagined. Before I was caught up in sales, marketing, and everything that comes with the hustle of being an artist in today’s world, I used to just create for the love of it. It wasn’t about chasing the next dollar or worrying about what others thought I should be doing. It was about enjoying the process, and I’ve decided to go back to that.
Finding My Peace Again
I’ve always valued the important things in life—my faith, my family, and my true friendships. And now, I’m adding something back to that list: the art I love to create. So for starters, I’ve picked up my pencils, markers, and pens again, and I’m starting my journey back to peace of mind. There’s something about art that quiets the noise, allowing me to reconnect with myself. It’s a special place where I’m free from toxicity, negativity, unhealthy mindsets. This is my secret space, a place where I can clear my mind and follow wherever God leads me. To sit quietly and freely while clearing my head.
From Drawing to Mixed Media
Before AI came along, I was teaching myself how to draw, and I’m going back to that self-taught method that brought me so much joy and peace. This time, I’m also exploring mixed media projects, pastel art, and various other mediums and projects like creating journals—whether for writing, money management, time management or other things. I’m finally enjoying the process again, and it feels amazing to be back on this path.
Sharing My Journey
As part of this journey, I’m taking another step and sharing one of my drawings with you today. I’m still learning, yep I'm a novice, so please be kind as you see my work. I’m teaching myself to draw through various sources because let’s be real, that’s how we do it! Every stroke, whether with pen, pencil, or marker, is another step toward growth, and I’m learning something new each time.
