That’s a wrap on the Plum City Summerfest Grand Parade 2026. This was our biggest parade yet! It was over 40 minutes long, with 70+ parade participants!

Thank you’s are in order to Paul Fetzer for being the best parade announcer ever, Jeff Bechel and family for the sound system and microphone set-up, the Plum City Village for helping prepare Main Street with barricades/no parking signs, Jeff & Ann Bechel for being such great parade grand marshals, and to everyone that came out to brave the heat, to either participate or watch the parade!

It is incredibly rewarding to see all of the time and energy that we put in, come to fruition. The sense of excitement and gratitude we felt seeing Main Street lined up and down with families enjoying the parade and kids running around with smiles on their faces, as they gather candy, freezies, and other fun items being thrown from all the floats.

The following received the best floats and prizes this year

1st. EPC cheerleaders and football players-$100 cash from the Plum City Lions Club

2nd. Haglund’s bar-$25 gift card to Molly’s

3rd. Molly’s on Main-$25 gift card to JM Watkins

There were an abundance of creative, fun, and innovative floats this year! Which made voting this year extremely difficult! Thank you participants for that! The time and energy you all put in your floats was definitely noticed!

We look forward to next year’s parade already!

The Plum City Parade Committee,
Angie and Scott Brantner
Angie and Bruce Bignell
Kayla and Jon Zeilinger
Justin Hewitt
And all of our kids Emma, Courtney, Brody, Grady, Dylan, Emily, Adison, Mathew, Brook, and Morgan

With the parade being tomorrow, here is some important information for our parade participants.

1. Check-in begins at 3pm, in the St. John’s Church parking lot. There will be a registration/check-in tent there. Please stop by and confirm that you are registered. You can also register there, if you still need to do so.

2. After checking in, the parade committee will then direct you down the parking lot hill, and to the right. Line up begins on Main Street, continuing south.

3. At check-in you will be given an index card to write your float’s name/business/organization on. You can also include any information you would like to promote/celebrate about your float! Please hang on to this index card. When approaching the duck pond, one of our parade volunteers (we will be wearing pink shirts) will grab the card from you, and Paul will announce and read out loud what you have written down.

4. We have implemented 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners this year as well. If your float is chosen, we will hand you the plaque, and your placing gifts. Thanks so our amazing sponsors! 1st place is $100 cash from the Plum City Lions Club, 2nd place is $25 gift card from Mollys, and 3rd place is a $25 gift card from JM Watkins! Please allow us to take a picture of you with your award and gifts at that time.

5. HAVE FUN & THANK YOU!! 😊

We look forward to seeing everyone’s floats tomorrow!

Our 2026 Plum City Summerfest Parade Grand Marshals, Jeff & Ann Bechel!

Jeff and Ann both grew up in Plum City, and graduated from Plum City High School. They built their lives in the community they have always been proud to call home.

Ann grew up above her family’s hardware store, where she learned the value of hard work and serving others from her Dad, Lyle Gilles. Today, she continues to help out at the store, carrying on a tradition that has been a part of Plum City for generations. She has dedicated countless hours to St. John’s Church, the Plum City Lions Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Ann has always been just a phone call away, to help someone find the right hardware part or to lend a hand when it was needed most.

Jeff spent over 50 years as a milk hauler for the community, before recently retiring. But, if you have ever been to a wedding, dance, festival, or celebration around Plum City over the last 50 years, chances are you’ve danced to Jeff and the band. Jeff has helped provide the soundtrack for generations of Plum City memories. Jeff is quick to lend a hand to anyone, especially with his sound equipment or expertise to help make events for the community sound their best.

Together, Jeff and Ann raised three children in Plum City. It was here where they taught their children the importance of family, community, and hard work. They now enjoy spending time with their grandson, Beni and continuing to support the community that they love.

Jeff and Ann are grateful to call Plum City home. They have always believed in supporting their community, helping their neighbors, and giving back whenever they could. They are honored to have raised their family here, and are so thankful for the friendships and memories they’ve made along the way.
