This screening happens to mark the 50th anniversary of the Strand Theater scandal, just across the street! Back in 1975, they were busted for showing a p***o, sparking outrage and headlines in the Press-Republican, and even a high-profile trial!

Hello everyone!

Next screening is coming from Japan 🇯🇵. A self proclaimed “RAMEN WESTERN” 🤠 🍜 Tampopo (1985) by Juzo Itami. It follows a group of strangers who are determined to help a woman transform her small ramen shop into the best ramen shop ever! Along the way, the film also adds bizarre vignettes about the deep and sometimes ridiculous relationship humans have with food.

Sadly, we don’t have a ramen shop in Plattsburgh. Come hungry though, after the screening, we’re heading to Jade Buffet or Yama Sushi if you want to join!
