Not my typical post but it’s my truth. It’s not easy to make things work in a world where bigger and better is at your fingertips. With my childhood bumpy, I didn’t learn what it means to be accountable in all situations, I didn’t learn to stick it out with out holding grudges. I didn’t believe in happy endings and I didn’t understand what it meant to not take everything personal. Took a long to see my own faults because I had been protecting my self for so long as a child. I’ve done a lot of reflecting and been in therapy for years on years and I’ve come to a lot of conclusions. Marriage isn’t easy, probably why divorce rates will always be high. Raising kids is back and heart breaking, and step parenting is not for the weak. Making relationships work with family is painful but rewarding when you realize we all have our own opinions based off our life experiences and it’s ok to not agree and just listen. Nothing will put life into perspective more then a picture tho and I’m here to say don’t throw the towel in when it gets hard. Reflect, breath, and remind yourself to meet people where they are, they are doing their best even if it’s not what “best” looks like for you. We are a nation of “remove everything toxic” and I’m here to tell you unless someone’s trying to kill you, it’s probably something you should learn to work thru. We are meant to LEARN to communicate with each other no matter what level we are on. We are emotional creatures and it’s a fun fact that our cells take the MOST cellular damage over EMOTIONS. Someone loosing a loved one is more damage to our body then being in a car wreck and in a coma for 6 months. Don’t believe me? Look it up, and the next time you want to give up on a hard situation, or think it’s a mistake to try know that fireworks, penicillin, X-rays, heart pacers, and good old chocolate chip cookies were created from just that, mistakes people didn’t give up on. STOP GIVING UP AND PUSH THRU, there is a whole other side, and it’s full of love and fulfillment. I still have hard days but now I know they pass with out regret because I don’t give up and give it my all.

The other beauty up close... titled “Sister Shell” most don’t get what she means. If you look you can kinda see a white pearl in the middle, and make out the top and bottom of the shell but it’s so much more then that. I made this to represent sisterhood and the female body. I made two of these at the same time and I sold the other and kept this one... I had to... I poured her first and as soon as I poured this one I tried to replicate her immediately as a sister and i@realized how special she was. How amazing she came out... she was mine from the second I made her.

What is something you had to redue multiple times, I’ll go first for the last time. These lions! The customer changed their mind and hated what the result was so I had to start over. No biggie, I just keep on swimming and moving forward. I don’t cry over spilled milk

This beauty took time, patience, and understanding. None of which I had at the moment, so it was a challenge from beginning to end. Isn’t that how life works? You get thrown into things and you figure it out as you go, it can break you or make you. The only thing that separates success from failure is endurance, and this girls got it no matter how depressed or anxious I get. I’m determined to grow, determined to succeed and determined to create no matter what obstacles come my way, I’m hurdling like a pro and heading straight for the finish line. Just try to stop me. JUST TRY!

“Shades of love”

Sometimes courage skips a generation- Charlotte Phelan , from the movie The Help said it best but I’m glad my generation isn’t skipping. Thought I’d post this beauty I made to help me process what I’ve seen in the past week. I marched and protested with some really big hearted people this week. I watch numbers multiply on the street and 4 men end up convicted because of it. I’m hoping that soon all our police stations will adopt the 8 steps to humanize how they police. I do believe we can have a brighter tomorrow. I do believe we can love one another unconditionally no matter the color of skin because I see it in the eyes of those I walk with. No matter the shade I felt more acceptance and love in that crowd standing together then I ever have on my own for selfish causes. We can change. We can do better.

Happy Mother’s Day! Whether you are happily married or a single parent (I group dads into this) being a mom is hard!!! It’s non stop but I wouldn’t have it any other way 💙 hope you guys are having a great weekend with loved ones ❤️
