We welcome artists of all styles and types of media – dancers, emcees, singers, poets, DJs, visual artists and producers. Just show up and get in the cypher! The cypher is where styles, ideas and energy come together to create a conversation between artists. Although sometimes written, the freestyle cypher is where you can directly respond to the other emcees in the cypher, and create something in
the moment that cannot be duplicated. When the energy is perfect and everyone is in sync, there is nothing like it. Instead of only connecting on the internet, Track Meet gives artists an opportunity to collaborate and network with other artists in the moment. Do you need to be an amazing freestyler to contribute to the cypher? We encourage everyone to participate, even if you don't consider yourself an artist. If you are already seasoned, you can come to sharpen your skills and vibe with other artists, and if you’ve spent more time on the craft of writing than freestyling, you can come to further expand your ability to create something on the spot. We will be rotating DJs, live musicians, producers, visuals artists, and more, so stay tuned to see what’s happening every month. Peace and see you at the cypher!
