It is with mixed emotions that we announce that BPI will be (mostly) closing up shop in one month, on September 2nd, 2025. While we love the work we do, it is becoming increasingly difficult for small businesses to survive in this turbulent economic climate, and unfortunately BPI is no exception. After a lot of thought, we’ve come to the hard decision that it's no longer sustainable for us to provide our customers with the quality of products and service we always have, or to support our employees’ growth as well as they deserve. So our team will be moving on to their next adventures, and most of our products will be retiring at the end of the month.
Prospero has always been the heart of our business, so he’ll be sticking around for the foreseeable future. Starting in mid-September, Prospero cue light panels and parts will be available for purchase online. We'll post the details once the web shop is up and running. This will be the only way to acquire Prospero cue light panels after September 2nd.
In the meantime, Ben is thrilled to be joining the Engineering team at City Theatrical this fall. He’ll still be doing his mad scientist thing, just building a slightly different flavor of gadgets and gizmos. You’ll see him around: online, in the shop, or maybe on the train, zipping back and forth between Pittsburgh and New Jersey!
When we started building LED flicker candles more than 13 years ago - with Trinculo the Robot as our mascot, before we officially became Ben Peoples Industries - we never could have imagined that we’d come this far. We wouldn’t be here without our amazing team of employees and the enthusiastic support of our customers, so thank you all for being a part of the BPI family.
