I was just going through a bag of old jewelry I had inherited somewhere along the way. Inside were a bunch of old rings, including this one.. literally a pipe fitting (or something like that) with a piece of adhesive rhinestone sheeting cut to fit the band.

This was probably worn by someone long before I ever did drag. It made me think a lot about where we are today, where we came from, and how reflecting on something so simple can completely shift your mindset, both in what you do and how you appreciate it.

I’m a product of watching “old school” girls and being absolutely enamored by their beauty. Little did we know, it was items like the inside of duct tape rolls stoned into bracelets, or copper fittings topped with rhinestone sheets, that helped spark the glitz and glam people now pay thousands for.

Cheers to the stoned copper fittings and stoned cardboard, and especially to the ladies who shaped us along the way! 🥂💎
