I was born and raised in Michigan and from a very early age was especially fond of drawing. I can clearly remember making drawings for my classmates in kindergarten and first grade at Ridgeway Elementary School. I enjoyed art class throughout middle and high school and participated in the student show every year. Upon graduation, I wanted to continue to make art so I applied and was accep
ted to attend The University of Michigan School of Art and I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Drawing, Painting & Printmaking. Upon graduation, I moved to Chicago and started The Super Duper Art Co. Over the ten years I lived there I participated in several exhibitions, produced numerous commissions, and opened my own gallery (as a co-owner) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago in 2003. After living in Chicago, I moved with my wife to Pittsburgh in 2009 and have continued to create works for friends, family and anyone who is a connoisseur of the arts. I truly love to draw and many times I will take photographs and draw from those or create from the moments in time that have been seared into my mind. I like to think my style has no bounds and enjoy drawing/painting abstractly as well as realistically and am often working on both types of subjects at the same time. I am highly influenced by the work of Kandinsky, Klee and van Gogh although I am constantly trying to develop and evolve my own style. I will always find inspiration in this life and anyone who doesn’t or can't, just need to look a little closer or change their point of view. It is amazing what a little change of perspective can provide.
