The Making Room These are not your typical art classes. We don't focus on technique or proper form — we focus on the making. And the fun.

Each session is tailored to the participants--no two classes are the same. From beginner to expert, all skill levels are welcome!

Ever drawn a self portrait? Sometimes it can help reveal how we see ourselves. Maybe bring to light something we feel that we didn’t realize.

Would love to see y’all’s self portraits! Post them below in the comments or tag us :)

What’s holding you back?

Some are worried they won’t be good at it, so they never start.

☀️ When you focus on the process, rather than the result, there is no failing.

Some are worried they’re not ready yet, that they need more skill before starting.

☀️Our classes require no art skill, whether you’re a professional or have never picked up a brush, you will gain something new from our classes.

Some are worried that they don’t have enough time to start something new.

☀️ We offer online classes, Monday- Thursday, providing you the flexibility to create from your own home at your own time. Even an hour a week can make all the difference.

Watch me take 5 minutes to recenter after a stressful moment.

If you’re like me, sometimes you have too many thoughts at once. From housekeeping chores, to new projects you want to try; work tasks to building a work out routine— it can can hectic between these ears.

When all the lines of thought start to feel like they’re knotting together, sometimes I just need a minute (or 5) to straighten them out.

Thats where simple art exercises like this come in handy.

I split my page into different sections, and one by one, fill each section with its own pattern.

A simple task that I can feel accomplished after completing, accompanied by drawing patterns that will calm my system by repeating them.

Try this next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, and let me know how to like it. Better yet, try it right now and paste your creations in the comments! :)

This exercise takes inspiration from a Zentangle, a similar exercise that has a few more steps added to it. Definitely check out Zentangles if you wanna learn more!

Try this 5 minute drawing challenge to help calm racing thoughts and self regulate.

Having a set task for your hands to do—one with a clear start and finish—can help you refocus from racing thoughts. Drawing repeating patterns help you regulate your mind through your body, leaving you feeling a bit calmer and recentered.

Let’s see what your kaleidoscope of patterns looks like. Post your drawings in the comments!
