🌦️ Pittsburg ArtWalk Weather Update 🌦️

ArtWalk is happening rain or shine this Saturday, September 20 — barring any major safety concerns (like tornado warnings or lightning).

👉 If cancellation becomes necessary, we will announce it as soon as possible — and only if safety is at risk.

If you are uncomfortable setting up on the street, we encourage you to connect with local businesses to see if they’d like to host you indoors as a backup plan or simply to ease your mind. We understand everyone’s needs are different, and that’s okay.

Kansas weather changes by the minute — and honestly, every ArtWalk seems to come with a forecast twist, but more often than not, the skies work out in our favor. 🤞✨

We’re keeping a close eye on the weather, and we’re hopeful for a beautiful evening celebrating art, music, and community downtown.

REMINDER ⚠️ The event time is 5PM-9PM.

Due to a request by the City of Pittsburg we were asked to change the time. Please be sure to circulate the accurate flyer and share with your friends & family. We hope in 2026 we can get back on track with a longer event. Extending it was very successful and beneficial to all involved.

Be on the look 👀 out. The finalized ArtWalk Map will be hitting inboxes & screens this weekend! We are one week out and we can't wait to see you all! ❤️

We Need Storage Help!

As the Pittsburg Arts Council transitions into new leadership, we’ve unfortunately lost access to our previous storage space—and now we’re reaching out to our amazing community for support!

We’re looking for climate-controlled storage for our ArtWalk materials, including speakers, sound equipment, booth supplies, promotional items, and branded merchandise.

As a small nonprofit, we’re hoping to find a donated or reduced-cost space, or even a generous sponsor willing to help cover the cost as an in-kind contribution.

If you have space available or ideas to share, we’d love to hear from you. Your support helps us keep the arts thriving in Pittsburg!

🏵️ Young Artist Camp: "Printmaking & Collage"

Every kid is an artist! Students of all ages will be given artistic license to unleash their creativity while learning some new techniques in this exploration in printmaking and collage techniques! This is a great opportunity to kick off summer break for young artists in your life.

Touring Roster Artists for hire! 🎶 🎨
Pittsburg peeps- did you know you can apply to be a touring roster artist too? Check it out!

How do YOU find new music to listen to? One way is to check out the Kansas Touring Roster! Experience new and LOCAL music, see them perform live, or consider bringing them to a program at your organization with the help of some Arts Commission funding!

Here's just one excellent roster artist:

Old Sound is what happens when a trio of lifelong friends and musical collaborators mix elements of Americana with a dash of sonic alchemy. Their original brand of “liquid folk” flows effortlessly between intricate acoustic compositions, vivid lyrics, infectious bass lines, and harmonies that pull you right in.

Comprised of Grady Keller’s imaginative storytelling, strengthened by Chad Brothers’ exploratory bluegrass flat-picking and the playful groove of Greg Herrenbruck on upright bass—all of whom take turns leading vocally—Old Sound feels like a late-night bluegrass jam session that has evolved into something richer, layered with deep roots from Winfield, Kansas.

With live performances that combine campfire coziness and full-on musical exploration, Old Sound turns acoustic music into something timeless, yet unexpected.
