This National Wildlife Federation project relays climate risk and solutions for Tampa Bay through personal storytelling from community leaders across the Gulf. A heads up for our tax-preparing patrons: We are currently out of free copies of IRS Form 1040. Forms can still be printed from the IRS website at IRS.GOV/FORMS for $.15 per page. Pinellas County residents: You’re invited to enter Barbara S. Ponce Public Library of Pinellas Park's Flash Fiction Contest! This free writing contest is open to Pinellas County residents in three age brackets: Child (age 8 - 12), Teen (age 13 - 17) and Adult (age 18+). A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize will be awarded to the winners in each bracket. Plus, the winners and a runner up will see their stories printed in a zine that will be distributed at the library for a limited time. It's our Spring Backyard Scavenger Hunt and Earth Day Raffles! To celebrate Earth Day, our Youth Services staff have explored their own backyards to find and share the eight items that you will be searching for as you do our scavenger hunt. You will need to find the eight items featured in our video and listed on the check-off list. Four of the items will need to be collected and shared with us in a photo (see details below). To enter one of the raffles, here's what you need to do: *Print out the check-off list in the first comment or draw one of your own with the same items. *Search your backyard or your neighborhood for all the items. Be sure to follow all Safer at Home guidelines. *Mark off each item as you find it. *Collect the four items listed in the right hand column. *Have your grown-up take a picture of you with your completed check-off list and your four found items. *Share your picture in the comments below before Monday, April 27th, at 5 p.m. to be entered into the raffle. Note: One entry per child. There will be two raffles: *One raffle for children in K-5th grades *One raffle for Pre-K and under Please designate your child's age group. We encourage all virtual participation but you must be a Pinellas County resident to qualify for the raffle. If you are participating from outside the county, please note that in your comment. Winners will be contacted on Tuesday, April 28th, and announced soon after. We hope your family enjoys lots of sunshine and nature as you explore your own backyard!
