Want a great activity to help engage your brain and have some fun at the same time? Then make your way to the Pinellas Park Senior Center Pool Room (7625 59th St. N.) Monday-Friday, from 8:00am - 4:30pm, and get engaged, burn some calories & shoot some pool! Playing an exciting game of pool offers many different benefits to seniors, including:

• Helps build focus as players must focus on their targets (the cue ball and the target ball), the angle of their own cue, the angle the cue ball will move in once it is hit and if the cue ball will strike the target ball.
• Enables stretching and balance as bending across the table top to reach the cue ball at a desired angle requires a player to be moderately flexible, especially with complex shots.
• Hones good hand-eye coordination which will allow you to be able to take your shot in a manner that is timed, smooth, and efficient with respect to the intended goal.
• Playing pool slows aging according to a study conducted by researchers at the University of Copenhagen which found that people who played pool experienced healthy and active aging that positively impacted their everyday lives, quality of life, and general.
• Helps overcome the feelings of depression and isolation by encouraging conversation & friendship amongst your fellow players

Through funds donated, time given, or awareness raised, our communities are teaming up - virtually or in person - to make a difference. Everyone of us has been touched by cancer in some way. Friends, relatives, caregivers, survivors – so sign up & join in to help the American Cancer Society save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

At Relay For Life events, no one faces cancer alone. We come together every year at more than 2,500 Relay events around the country to support and celebrate survivors and caregivers so they can connect with others and know there is a strong support system available to them.

Is there a free Sunday symphony concert in Feb???
Love the shows they put on. Unfortunately the seating is way to tight. I personally have come across thid problem everytime we go to a show. I was not able to enjoy Tommy Mara and the Crest tonight due to having to squeeze my shoulders to fit between to people next to us. The man next to my hudband was hanging over 3 inches into my husbands seat.
