East Central Purple Circle

East Central Purple Circle We are a formed group of Lesbian, Queer & allied women of East Central MN. Established in the fall of 2007. What is a typical gathering like?

We are formed group of Lesbian, Queer & allied women of East Central MN. We seek to share stories with each other and build community with one another - in our own towns, where we strive to be safe, productive, welcoming and welcomed! We currently have an email list of about 40 persons, and we average about 20 women at a more or less monthly gathering hosted by a member. We meet at someone's home, cabin, farm or at a park, and we eat, play (sometimes games, flying kites, etc) , make things, kayak, canoe, talk a lot, laugh and enjoy each other's company. The person who hosts the activity sets the date, the time, the place, the activity, and usually provides something to nosh on - and it is usually also potluck.

🌈✨ Big news from East Central Minnesota Pride! ✨🌈

The Minnesota Historical Society Historical Marker is officially in production at Sewah Signs in Marietta, Ohio πŸ›οΈβœοΈ. Sewah Studios, Inc

We’re beyond thrilled that this project was made possible in part by the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, thanks to the people of Minnesota πŸ™ŒπŸ’œ.

This will be the FIRST LGBTQ+ Historic Marker in Minnesota πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ β€” a lasting symbol of visibility in a region where, for far too long, LGBTQ+ stories were erased.

Preserving this history matters. Future generations will see this marker and know: you can be yourself anywhere 🌍πŸ’ͺ🌟
