THIS IS AN EMERGENCY CALL TO ALL OF MY FACEBOOK FAMILY AND FRIENDS - ESPECIALLY THOSE INVOLVED WITH PROFESSIONAL REGIONAL THEATERS IN ANY WAY!!!!!!
There is a proposed Bill called the STAGE Act which would ACTUALLY create a $1 billion dollar ANNUAL federal grant system for professional regional theaters. This would be operational funds to pay for artists, production costs, and payroll. THIS WOULD BE HUGE! The Bill recognizes the positive economic impact professional regional theaters have in their communities and that they actually create jobs and support local businesses. WE NEED TO GATHER UNIFIED SUPPORT NATIONWIDE - PARTICULARLY IN "RED STATES" WHERE THE SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES COULD LET THIS SLIDE BY WITHOUT THIER SUPPORT. Below is the STAGE Act Bacground Summary one sheet. Read it. I want to host a Zoom meeting next month with all interested representatives from Professional Regional Theaters around the country. This could be a game changer that will help keep Professional Regional Theater alive, well, and growing. Contact me here!

We had so much fun teaching our classes virtually this summer. We are working hard to create fun and creative programing for the fall! Our Page to Stage 1 class created a play based on the book "The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors" by Drew Daywalt. Through our 6 classes we discussed how design elements factor in to putting on shows, created costumes and props from items we had in our homes, played with using Zoom as a platform for creating a short movie and even threw in a few puppets.
