Hey Dad ! Happy Heavenly Father's Day !!

This was the day I left home to be a Musician. I flew into Norfolk, VA to report to The Armed Forces School of Music where I met MUC Leo Leary coming off quarterdeck watch. Instead of going home after a long workday Chief Leary picked up my duffle bag and loaded me into his car to go 3 blocks to the barracks. He ordered me to report to the Jazz Department after supper to audition for the Student Lab Band. Chief Leary and MUC Rocky Palumbo placed me in the 1st Tenor chair that night before I had even made my rack.

One of the best days of my life! The same week my college bound musician friends were also moving into dorms and their own orientation.
