Austin, Texas based Esoteric/Electronic artist Curse Mackey is a notable force in the industrial electronic music scene as a long time primary member of industrial supergroup PIGFACE, and as frequent collaborator with My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult along with collaborations with darkwave legends Clan ofXymox

and Beauty In Chaos. Mackey was also a founder of notorious Texas Tribal-industrial punks EVIL MOTHERS
His debut self-titled solo album INSTANT EXORCISM was released via Negative Gain in 2019 along with a series of follow up singles beginning in May 2021. Curse's sound is a future-forward, genre bending amalgamation of experimental industrial music, dance-floor driven darkwave atmospherics with a doom/shoegazer overlay creating a unique hybrid sound that is uniquely his own but ill appeal to fans of the aforementioned bands as well as artists such as Skinny Puppy, Nick Cave, Coil, Nine Inch Nails, Health, or those who love heavy, dark electronic music. Mackey's scream of conscious lyrical prose and riveting stage presence combine for a dynamic, diabolical force of sound, words, physical and other worldly energy. In addition to his live projects, Curse is a notable DJ on the darkwave, indie dance, industrial circuit. He DJs all vinyl sets as well as hardware/digital sets and endorses DJ gear, Roland electronics, Ableton. Mackey is also very active as an event producer/promoter and art curator with two published books based on his art projects.

Dear Austin area friends, please join us for this special occasion....more than a show, it's an exquisite exhibit...

Rare Forms is an evening of live performance and exhibition featuring four Austin-based artists whose work spans music, visual art, fashion, literature, film, and experimental media.

Featuring live performance and parallel works by SINE, Jonas Wilson, Curse Mackey, and King Thievery.

Rare Forms will also mark the live debut of King Thievery, the new creative project from Jeff Henson and Deezie Brown.

Alongside live musical performances, the evening will include visual art, fashion, experimental film and video, and readings from published works.

Presented by Cool Molecule and dadageek, Rare Forms takes place within one of Austin's most distinctive creative spaces. Part gallery, part laboratory, and part performance venue, dadaLab provides a home for creative work that extends beyond the scope of traditional venues. july 11.
