Show Synopsis
When Latino veterans came home from World War II, they expected to be welcomed as heroes by the entire community. But after facing discrimination at the only other American Legion post in town, they decided to build their own, brick by brick, in a South Phoenix barrio. American Legion Post 41 quickly became a beacon for civil rights activism. Today, it's a living tribute to the legacy of its members.
Character Breakdown
Two Hispanic women and four Hispanic men
ages early 20s to early 40s. Actors will play multiple roles.
What To Prepare
One prepared monologue. Actors will also read cold from prepared sides.

IMPORTANT: With the exception of the preview performance on May 18 at 7 p.m., all performances will happen at noon at the Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe, Phoenix AZ as part of
the Lunchtime Theater series. Call time for the noon performances is 11 a.m. Curtain drops at 1 p.m. Rehearsals will take place in the evenings and on weekends.
