Jacob Soulliere, baritone, is currently an aspiring young opera singer with goals to be a full time performer at the Metropolitan Opera. Jacob began his early choral singing as a member of the Phoenix Boys Choir. Since then Jacob has been singing and performing classical music and oratorios as well as understudying operas with well-known people including Vance George, Z. Randall Stroope, Bob Chilcott, Steven Moeckel, Paul Lee, John Sikora,
and Metropolitan Opera stars, Vernon Hartman and Julian Fielder. Jacob currently studies voice with famed mezzo soprano, Mary Sue Hyatt, who formerly served as "Professor of voice" at Kent State University. In addition to studying voice with Ms.Hyatt, Jacob coaches opera with Henri Venanzi, who serves as the "Chorus Master" for the Arizona Opera and Cincinnati Opera. Singing a choral solo at the renowned stage of Carnegie Hall, to being invited to sing at the White House as a singer/soloist. Jacob has great potential becoming one of the finest young singers in the southwest.
Jacob Soulliere, baritone, is currently a senior at Boulder Creek high-school, where he often performs as a soloist and is a member of the Bel Canto Honor Choir. Jacob began his early choral singing as a member of the Phoenix Boys Choir under the direction of Georg Stangelberger. Since then Jacob received Honorable Mention in the 2015 Arizona MusicFest Young Musicians Vocal competition. He was one of 15 young musicians, and the only vocalist, to perform at the Musical Instrument Museum representing Arizona's finest young musicians. In October Jacob placed 1st in the 2016 Upscale Singers Vocal Competition. In addition to winning the $500 scholarship he performed as soloist at the Presbyterian Church for the Upscale Singers 2016 Christmas Concert. In December Jacob was selected to perform with the newly formed Messiah Chorus in the production of Handel's Messiah under the direction of 4- time Grammy winner Vance George formerly director of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. At this time the young Baritone had the opportunity to coach with the maestro who was very encouraging regarding his future operatic career goals. Most recently Jacob was asked by American composer, conductor, and lecturer, Z. Randall Stroope to sing the written solo in a choral piece . "Soldier Soldier Won't You Marry Me? " under the direction the Maestro at the renowned Carnegie Hall. Currently, Jacob participates as a choir member and as a soloist at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Carefree. Jacob is studying the role of Masetto from Mozart's Don Giovanni and hopes to perform it in the near future. The young baritone studies voice with Mary Sue Hyatt, choral singing and sight reading with Kirk Douglas, and also works with Nancy Tobison on music theory skills.
